Man, I can't even get my entire immediate family to vote Republican. Jesus. I'm talking about conservative white Christian people. We are so fucked as a nation...

I just accused someone in my family of being a cuck. There was a big fight. First I had to explain what cuckoldry meant, and why it applied to them. Then shit got real. I could have handled that better.

Usually best not to start fights with family. I avoid politics for the most part with mine, they're mostly liberal leaning... If politics comes up I just make a move to change the subject. It's not worth the headache.

I’m traveling with some virulent Trump-haters. I’m pretty good at staying away from politics but they make their anti-Trump statements a couple times a day. Yesterday I said, “you shouldn’t underestimate Trump, He’s got a 47% Approval rating.” They denied that and Googled it but wouldn’t look me in the eye afterwards.

I mentioned the Portland Antifa riots and was accused of making it up. I showed them YouTube videos and they walked away. The Virtual Civil War is on and has been since before Trump, but he’s the focus now.

p.s. BTW, I’m in Nevada and mentioned it was nice to have grocery bags to carry food back to the apartment; they got all huffy. They also make a big point of telling waitresses not not include a straw in their water. (They go up turtle’s noses?)

My wifes cousin is a Trump Hater and when the Trump world tour came to his town he was hired by a staffer in the local mayors office to protest the POTUS. They pulled off their protest, but got stiffed on getting payed. As far as I know he's still supporting the cause just as virulently.

The Irony is that they carry this mantel of being the side of science, logic and education, but are running on pure emotion. Running on emotion generally makes for really bad decision making.
