Yeah, I think everyone has one of those on the bottom. There's a reason too. Great knife for the money. Never had a Mora, but the damn things keep haunting me like a ghost. I'm going to have to breakdown and get one...……….. I hear good things.

It was like 12 dollars. Knifeco.com iirc. Think I posted about it before. I'm very pleased with it so far. This one is stainless. Just a basic bitch knife good for saltwater. Taking my leatherman to the beach was a mistake.

How bad a shape is your Leatherman ? If some of the attachments won't open, toss it in a can of diesel for a couple weeks.

The pliers won't open on their own. I think it's a poor design compared to Gerber. I gave it to my friend that is good at fixing things and he cleaned it up real good and told me to send it in for a replacement. I might try the diesel thing. I honestly think it came from cutting a bunch of thick gauge wire when it was below freezing. Actually I think the cutter part of the pliers is replaceable. I haven't tried that yet.

Leatherman has some great customer service. I bought my Wave in Saudi Arabia 20 years ago. Now both knives were snapped off and the pliers wouldn't open properly. They boast lifetime guarantee so I sent it to the Swedish importer. No receipt or anything. They just sent me a brand new one. No questions asked. Didn't think that kind of attitude towards customers still existed in this world.

I can't find it on this thread, but you recommended to me getting a cheap knife for outdoors stuff. Do you remember the brand? I had the link open awhile back, and I think it was a Scandinavian website.

Don't remember that. I recommend Mora if you want good value. They are Swedish. So is my favourite brand, Fällkniven. They are not cheap though.

I found a mora on Amazon for $15. It is relatively small. I'm debating getting it.

My personal favorite knife in terms of asethetics, is the ghurka knife. When I get more income I want to buy one just to have it. Those things look fucking awesome...

Man, when I was in high school, I went to a flea market and bought some throwing knives. I thought they would work the way they do in the movies. It turns out, it is very difficult to throw them so they stick to a target. Additionally, one of the knives missed the board and just sunk into the grass on my dad's lawn. I remember taking a giant magnet on a string and pulling it over the grass for hours until it pulled up the knife, because I was worried it would fucking total the lawnmower blade. I don't think I actually managed to get them to stick into the board target once. There is a technique but I never learned it.
