We could go fishing in the sea and then fly our catch up into the mountains to grill in the evening. With a Catalina you can basically go anywhere. Just load up most of the tools and common parts to repair remotely. If it really breaks, just have the parts shipped.

I could probably fix almost everything on there except those engines.

Trivia: The B29 cockpit was the model for the Millenium Falcon cockpit.

Monte, are you a plane expert? How accurate were the dogfight battles in Dunkirk? I thought overall the movie was meh, but I was very impressed with the aerial aspects of the film, and the sound for the planes and machine guns sounded extremely close to what I've seen in those black and white WW2 documentaries. Did you feel they made the air battles in the film realistic?

Nah, can't even remember the difference between a flying fortress and a superfortress.
I have a keen interest but little expertise.
Haven't seen Dunkirk yet.
I do know that a Spitfire had 13-14 seconds worth of ammo and films rarely get that right.

I know one aircraft pretty well. The others I am sort of familiar with. The further away you get from the concept of a fighter jet the less familiar I become.

The F-22 is new and has not faced a fifth gen fighter in combat yet.

The F-15 will almost certainly go down to some Russian or Chinese fifth gen airframe at some point.

It is just that the F-15 was far better than any competitor of its time. The F-22 is better than the F-15, obviously, but not really that far advanced to its in fifth gen competitors as the F-15 was to fourth gen competitors.

F-35 is dog shit. Lockmart fucked us hard with that deal.
