I haven’t checked the news in a few hours (I’m traveling to Cali right now); what’s the status?

Migrants vow to re-form caravan, continue north toward US
IUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico (AP) — About 2,000 Central American migrants who circumvented Mexican police at a border bridge and swam, forded and floated across the river from Guatemala decided to re-form their mass caravan Saturday and continue their trek northward toward the United States.
Gathered at a park in the border city of Ciudad Hidalgo, the migrants voted by a show of hands and then marched to the bridge to urge those still there to cross the river and join them.
“Let’s all walk together!” and “Yes we can!” they cried.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
To me, Guatemala and Mexico seem about the same. Both poor, both violent horrible places filled with disease, rape, and poverty. But Mexico seems to see a distinctiom. They treat their southern illegal migrants far worse than we treat ours. That means, if we are getting cartel members, rapists, and thieves from Mexico, imagine how bad the Guatemalans are. With that in mind, I just thought of a good way to think about our view on these huge central American Caravans: if even a dog won't roll around in it, imagine how shitty it must smell.

Honestly, regardless if somebody is paying them to do this (which really just means paying Mexican organized crime), it would happen anyway. This is the consequence of Trump buckling to the liberals over separated children from their criminal parents (or whatever adult claimed to be their parent) until we can figure out who their legitimate nearest relatives are for repatriation. Once you started releasing people who came with kids, it was caravan city for the southern border.

Mexico is far better off than Guatemala. It's night and day. Mexico is more like the US if you want to compare and contrast to places like Guatemala and Honduras.heydaralon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:44 pmTo me, Guatemala and Mexico seem about the same. I think we should put a machine gun nest every one hundred yards on our southern border, with pressure triggered mines beneath our soil to stop tunneling. Wouldn't stop everything, but a fine start. It would help as a deterent against cartels too.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:46 pmMexico is far better off than Guatemala. It's night and day. Also, if Mexico is so awesome, than the Guatemalans should stay there. America is far too cis gendered and racist for them anyway. It is a horrible place and I would much rather live south of the border in a cultured oasis instead of in this KKK poverty haven.

They say that migrants make economies and societies stronger. It would be white privilege to take all these migrants while other Latin American nations are struggling economically right now.heydaralon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:47 pmI think we should put a machine gun nest every one hundred yards on our southern border, with pressure triggered mines beneath our soil to stop tunneling. If I commit any kind of felony in America and have children, I will be separated from them when I go to prison. These people aren't even citizens, and their mere presence is a crime. If they didn't want to be separated, they shouldn't have illegally crossed. Seriously this aint hard. You aren't going to starve to death or die in Mexico, it will just suck to live there. So stay. If the family separation thing is an issue, then we should just deport them as a group. Also, its to the point where I would rather just figure out what the cartels make from this coyote stuff, and pay them more to stop the migrant flow. That's not any worse than Obama giving guns to them, or our negotiations with terrorist groups in the GWOT and Cold War. Just incentivize the cartels to use force to stop illegal people smuggling with money if they comply, and Abottabad style drug raids with helicopters and drone strikes across the border if they don't.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:45 pmHonestly, regardless if somebody is paying them to do this (which really just means paying Mexican organized crime), it would happen anyway.
