She's less Indian than probably any of us are, milspecs. It's hilarious.
I can go back 6 generations and hit the Indian relative... yeah... I'm more Native American than her, and probably most on this board... meh.
How? (No pun intended)

If a white person expresses sympathy for the plight of Native Americans and claims they are one, is that a form of virtue smoke-signaling?

Elizabeth Warren’s national political career is over. And malignant narcissist that she is she keeps trying to score rhetorical points against Donald Trump, thinking if she can just get in a good one, she’ll stop being a laughing stock.

But, that’s not going to happen. She’s accumulating nicknames now at a rate that is faster than black men are leaving the Democrats.

Fauxcahontas

Lie-awatha

Last of the Fauxhicans

Fraudazuma

Fakeagawea

After being thoroughly rebuked by the Cherokee Nation for using her DNA results (which, by the way, make her more Aryan than Hitler) for cheap political purposes, Warren continues to debase herself stridently rallying her supporters to force Trump to pay up on his ‘bet’ with her that she is significantly Native American.

She went from possibly being of Cherokee origin to being the founding member of the Slapaho tribe.

Because, seriously, someone needs to slap some sense into her.
The names crack me up.

Like I said, I don’t care about her descent but I can’t stand deliberate misrepresentation of facts. Saying only documented tribal members are of indigenous descent is simply not true.
Identity politics, everyone.
There is no such thing as genetics politics. The DNA is or it is not.

Science is real.
I don't know what test she did but to call something they calculate to 0,01 % a scientific truth is stretching it. They are counting genetic indicators and calculating statistical probabilities after all. The only way to 100% sure is if they know that the samples they base the calculations on, the original example specimen, are known to be 100 % true blood all the way 13 generations back on all branches. Good luck with that.
I've seen reports of identical twins and triplets getting different results from these tests.

More explained here

What I actually learned about my family after trying 5 DNA ancestry tests

Also, please understand that

Genetics cannot tell you what culture you belong to. Even if you knew your ancestors came from some place or tribe, that doesn't make you a part of that tribe now. If you had some Cherokee ancestor nine generations ago, yet do not speak a word of Cherokee, know nothing of Navajo culture and were never part of a Cherokee community, how could you be - and expected to be accepted as - Cherokee? You cannot simply declare yourself a member of some ethnic group just by wishful thinking and a useless genetic marker.
