Jock Itch

Post by heydaralon » Tue Oct 16, 2018 5:06 pm

I have had jock itch for over a week now. I have a pretty active job, and I do yardwork and exercising in the evening, so I sweat a lot. That might be how it started. I shower every day, wash my sheets at least once per week, and wear clean clothes. I have tried putting talcum powder on my inner thighs, but over time that made my balls burn and get really flaky. Now I am using Lotrimin lotion on the area twice per day, while changing my boxers twice per day too. This really sucks. I keep seeing online that if itch continues, you should see a doctor, but I don't want to shell out a couple of hundred for the visit. Are there any home remedies that you guys know about that will help with this? I've had rashes before but this is on another level.

Less showers as the moisture is like watering plants.

Also sleep nude. Don't let that get shit warm either. The fungus is basically a magui.

I'm using the Lotrimin but I haven't tried shaving yet, because I am worried that it will agitate the area more, but I will try that tonight.

Sounds like a fungus - try over the counter fuguscide - then see MD if no positive results after a few days.

Use the medicated foot powder. It burns for a few minutes but then the next day everything is good. Use it after a shower. I recommend the menthol one for full burn.

I'm going to keep using the Lotrimin, but does this just go away by itself over time? I am worried that if the lotion doesn't kill it, it will become immune to it and become like a super fungus. Shit like this happens in the hospitals with MRSA and shit. It freaks me out tbh

Is the powder for it better than the lotion?

It does hurt when you have a rash, but that shit grows better in the moist warmth provided by hair and sweat.

I got this shit once like you described *from* the hospital. It was weaponized.

A few things:

(1) Shave your whole tacklebox region from the shaft down, including into your legs where the fungus probably grows worst.
(2) Use lotrimin all the time to kill it.
(3) Keep the area cool and dry. Change underwear throughout the day if you can.
(4) Sleep nude.
(5) wear shorts everywhere if you can (don't let that shit get warm).
(6) change your towel after every shower.
(7) Shower only once per day before bed. (don't let it get wet often).
