Southern isn't just a fucking line on a map. I am Floridian and I am willing to admit fully half or more of my native state is fucking gone from the Southland, having been colonized by Yankees and people from the Spanish Caribbean.

I very much doubt there is anything southern about you. West Virginians were not southerners either. They were midlanders and Appalachians who lived in the corner of the state since colonial times. They had more in common with the Midlands, so they threw their lot in with Ohio and the rest.
