All I could find was that it ruins machinery and electronics and is really bad to breath in because it is so fine and sharp. Plus its electrically charged so it sticks to anything it touches.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

The dust and sand particles on a barren world with no atmosphere experience no weathering at all. They have extremely sharp edges and points that simply destroy cells on contact.

During the Apollo missions at least one astronaut got dust in his throat, causing damage.

Is it possible to create an atmosphere on the Moon ?

Someone had to have thought of that.

We have one because of a magnetosphere thanks to an active core. Mars and Luna are both dead inside so the tech required to do this artificially is hundreds of years in the future.

While I do not doubt we will need to get our start with a few lunar and planetary colonies, I doubt intelligent civilizations do that long-term. It is more efficient and safer to build habitats in solar orbit.

Planets and moons have a habit of soaking up asteroid damage.
