You answered them, dude.
Twice.
At length.
And twice the answer was “Yeah, I want to strip them of those rights BUT...”
Damn, it’s like this forum needs an English to English translator or something so people can understand what they write.

I didn't address this and it's important because it's at the heart of the current ideological conflict in the country. Humans are the species of change - our technology demands it - yet many remained trapped in a place that no longer exists. Men are no longer the dominant sex. Women no longer need men to achieve success. We don't have a family systems built on intimidation anymore, and violence is mostly archaic when it comes to solving personal problems and finding a place in this world. It is now about partnership. We are in the era of crowd achievement, which means we need to be able to communicate and work together to continue to grow as a species.Zlaxer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 12:15 pm
So you're saying that the natural state of mankind is not that males are the dominant sex? Like 90% of every other species out there? Just look at fucking Arab culture if you want to see the "normal" / natural law state of women.
I would say the "abnormal" state is that most Men (in civilized Western Cultures) agree that women should be treated as equal because we acknowledge their intellectual capacity.
Change is frightening but luddites will hurt us more. Just like the factories aren't coming back, absolute rule of the family isn't coming back either. What is replacing those institutions is better. Our jobs are better. Our marriages should be better. What came before was unhealthy and it's time to have better lives. Fear is not an excuse for trying to live in the past.

Re: Responses to Matriarchy vs. Patriarchy
It takes a special brand of cynicism to view every step of human progression from cannabalistic cave dwelling to modern comfort as “unhealthy”.
Likewise it takes a special form of conceited ignorance to believe we must exist at a moment of great human progress, or that all the popular sentiments of the day are superior to those of the past.
In fact, I see no way to reconcile the two beliefs - that everything before was unhealthy and everything current and trendy is optimal. Fruit trees don’t grow from the roots of stink weed.

Re: Responses to Matriarchy vs. Patriarchy
Men and women have had an unhealthy foundation to overcome for a long, long time. There is no true relationship when one person has the ultimate authority in the relationship. That is the opposite of the concept of marriage as it now exists. Authoritarian marriage is bad for everyone involved. We all struggle with its legacy. This is not popular sentiment but a frank assessment of the past into the present. It is in fact better to be female now and here than any other place and time in history, but that doesn't negate history.DBTrek wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:23 pmIt takes a special brand of cynicism to view every step of human progression from cannabalistic cave dwelling to modern comfort as “unhealthy”.

School achievement higher for children in nuclear families than for children in blended or single-parent families
The impact of family structure on the health of children: Effects of divorce*
Federal Report Confirms 'Nuclear Family' Best for Children's Health
Odd, seems that “unhealthy” and imbalanced traditional institution of marriage and nuclear family is consistently the healthiest option when actual data is taken into account. I wonder how all the data got it so wrong?
Even those “authoritarian” arranged marriages imposed on couples from other cultures seem to do well. Puzzling indeed.

Hold on there - you spoke in terms of “normal” and “abnormal states”, and that we never should have been in an initial state where Men were dominant.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:12 pmI didn't address this and it's important because it's at the heart of the current ideological conflict in the country. And what is replacing the “family” institution (that you say is never comming back) that is so much better than the family?

Re: Responses to Matriarchy vs. Patriarchy
Everyone has it "better" now than at any time in history. The whole idea that there has been some kind of historical oppression that needs to be rectified stinks of Marxism. Dividing people into groups and handing out oppression points is never going to lead us to a better place. The current race for being the biggest victim is a sickness upon society. When did we start worshiping victimhood? That's not how any of this works.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:36 pmMen and women have had an unhealthy foundation to overcome for a long, long time. What is this new foundation that will replace the old bad one? What even was the old bad one? The nuclear family is a pretty recent invention and the jury is still out on whether it's a good idea.
The natural environment for humans seems to be tribes of around 150 individuals. That is what we are designed for.
