Doesn't that kind of belief system just put you vs. the swathes of people on the left and right who disagree with you and do view this a conflict of ideas tho?
It’s the black-and-white thinking that I find false. Yes, many disagree. However, the extremes bend toward tyranny. There’s also the question of ‘who defines.’ We define. Not one side or the other, but We the People. That is by definition democracy.
Has nothing to do with definition. If you believe x, you are hated by y by default. If you are x race you are hated by y by default. Its not like door to door ethnic cleansing, but there is absolutely a conflict going on with ideas in America. Also the "we" the people is not a monolithic block but rather a series of groups that hate eachothers ideas and eachother.
But this is new. People hated each other in the past but loved America more than they hated each other. Even the hatred is more intense now, and more widespread.

I disagree. Bleeding Kansas, Civil War, Sixties riots etc. This might be close to the top for most divisive time, but this kind of societal conflict is nothing new. In fact, I think even compared to the sixties this probably has less of a body count...

I can only personally compare it to the 60s forward. This is the most divisive in my lifetime. The relatives who remember the Depression don't remember this kind of widespread hatred of Americans for each other. And worse yet, there are no social ramifications due to the anonymity of the internet, and that's bleeding into real life.

The other side, The Matriarchy, the side you say doesn't exist, that side doesn't believe in traditional American values, The Patriarchy, and even discounts The Founders, and The Founding Principles. Yeah, I can't see any way through that but to defeat the people who feel that way, and hold them down.

They were not perfect and they knew it, hence the amendment process. For the first time in our history, the majority is getting input into their governance. This can't be held down without tyranny.

What's wrong with that? The Constitution is supposed to protect the minority.

That's true. If "the majority" truly want to establish a new nation, it will come to violence, which is tyranny. Okay, sobeit.

I think framing the debate as Matriarchy vs. Patriarchy suffers from the same shortfall as the term “manterrupting”:

Image

You’re taking a political climate where 53% of white women voted for Trump, and trying to place the social-political divide along gender lines. The model doesn’t fit the reality. When you try to predict with a flawed model, you come to bad conclusions.
