Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
“The absolute slowest performers in Amazon warehouses are so lethargic that the only way they can meet their metrics is to poop in cans. THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW!!!!”
Because legislating to the lowest common denominator is what makes a nation great. If one guy in a warehouse of hundreds has to resort to bio-hacks so he can keep pace with his peers, then obviously a crime of capitalism has been committed.
Someone contact the Bureau of Fairness at once, before we’re all forced to poop in cans. Because it spreads, ya know.

So I am going to take that as a negative. You have no intention of engaging honestly with anybody. Good convo.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
I engage honestly with anyone seeking honest engagement.
But what has honesty to do with “Amazon doesn’t pay their workers or let them go to the bathroom”?
Nothing.
That ridiculous assertion and honesty have no connection whatsoever, so the nature of your complaint is puzzling.

Article mentioning reviews of their workplace by some Amazon employees:

You referring to the article I just linked? Then no, not really. Maybe try reading the contents instead of simply assuming what the content is? If I'd wanted to post a "wub wub" story, I could easily have selectively searched for that and only posted that to validate my assumptions. You know... like a lawyer.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
I read it, but it cites the aggregate opinions (Glassdoor) of ALL Amazon employees. The woe-is-me crowd are specifically pissed off about the employees working in Amazon warehouses. They aren’t unhinged enough to claim that people working Amazon office jobs are being screwed (yet). So I suspect they’ll dismiss the article by saying “Sure, coding for Amazon is great. We’re talking about the warehouses, not the office jockeys”.

They might, and I hope there might be more reliable primary sources somewhere. I don't know where StA heard the "not allowed to take a shit at work" story, but since the article doesn't just reference Glassdoor yet still doesn't mention that story about the no-shitting, I am not sure of that particular story's reliability.DBTrek wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:19 pmI read it, but it cites the aggregate opinions (Glassdoor) of ALL Amazon employees. Simply thought both StA and you could use some sort of hard data (primary sources in the form of Amazon employees) to base further discussion of.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
I’m probably more aware of the plight of Amazon workers than most here, given I’ve been through their five panel interview on two separate occasions and am the only forum member to set foot in one of their warehouses to my knowledge. Pair that with the fact that I live in the Amazon Capitol of the world and regularly interact with their workers.BjornP wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:35 pm

Since there’s nothing more than overwrought media sensationalism painting fringe incidents as “run-of-the-mill Amazon operations” I’m not investing much into countering the hysteria.
