You can't take him out based on his job performance so we'll take him out with a crying women? Weak
It's like when Glenn Thrush (Politico) was outed in the Wikileaks emails for being a self-admitted "hack" when he was forwarding his stories to John Podesta ahead of their publishing to allow the Clinton campaign to formulate a response. He still worked as a journalist (in the White House briefing room!) up until last year when he faced sexual misconduct allegations and either lost his job or was suspended or demoted, I forgot
What a hollow fucking victory. We can't take this guy out on being a fucking corrupt journalist but we can take him out in the #metoo whirlwind of accusations? Fuck that, that's weak"Because I have become a hack I will send u the whole section that pertains to u," Thrush writes to Podesta. Not saying that either of these men don't deserve some consequence from abusing women, assuming they did it, but I get no satisfaction from taking them out that way

Then you agree with most of us, who are celebrating the survival of “presumption of innocence” as a cultural norm. A norm that is under attack by radical leftists with no moral limit on how low they’ll stoop to win.JohnDonne wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:53 amI agree with youpineapplemike wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:29 amHonestly, if the vague assault accusation had indeed taken him down, it would feel like a hollow victory to me, speaking as someone that isn't super stoked about him being on the court in the first place. Haven’t spotted a single Kavanaugh enthusiast in the thread. But if you’re happy that yelling “rapist” at a man is sufficient to destroy his life’s work, then you’re solidly in the middle of MHF opinion.

I can see him being dishonest for political expediency, or to cover for something bad he did, I’m at a point where I’m not cool with either.pineapplemike wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:16 amI think he spoke deceptively because he wants the job, same reason he wouldn't come out and directly support another FBI investigation. It's the one answer that he couldn't give to the democrats grilling him into delaying and jeopardizing his confirmation yet another week. He knows how close the vote will be, he has to do whatever he can to defend himself, he can't let himself be seen as a drunken frat boy, even being seen as a drunken high school student who drinks beer is bad enough when youre accused of committing drunken acts as a high school student. He likes beer. He still drinks beer. So do I. I'm not so sure I would be able to stand by my beer drinking record if I was at the job interview of my life.JohnDonne wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 10:43 amI heard about the accusations here, at first I was like, wow, democrats must be on a witch hunt, because the mhf says the accusation is bs and has no teeth. But then I read about his testimony being deceptive and it made me wonder why he didn’t just speak honestly, sure he would have had to admit to being a drunken frat boy, but that’s not a crime, that’s a human thing, and it sounds like he was also a hard working student. Being forthright would at least prove him to be a man of integrity. it wasn’t a criminal trial, his life wasn’t on the line. it was basically a job interview, did he want to be on the Supreme Court so bad he was willing to bend the truth? That’s what bugs me about this thing.pineapplemike wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 10:29 amKavanaugh will always be tinged by this, the next time the SC rules on anything involving assault, school, beer, sex, women, men, humans or trans-humans, you can bet there will be internet articles bemoaning the accused sex fiend Brett Kavanaughty and his drunk ramblings from the court
Also I don't like the job interview analogy either because while it isn't a criminal matter, the innocent until proven guilty principle still applies imo
I think he could have done it, who knows? I sure don't.

If people are held to their 17-yo self for the rest of their life, then no one understands the concept of maturity and wisdom. He could have murdered cats and strung their intestines across his room; he could have masturbated to animal porn; he could have shot heroin and snorted cocaine - it makes no fucking difference.

Wait what? Not a good comparison there. He wasnt punished because one side already knew he was a hack and treated him as hostile while the other side didn't care and most likely employed for that very reason. You think that's corrupt? That's journalism in 2018, hell that's been for 20 years. You think politico a legitimate journalistic entity? Not to be a total dick, but what more did you expect? Let me lift the veil and take a swing at this naivete. They are all hacks until proven otherwise. So yes I'd rather deal with an honest or exposed hack so everyone know what is on the table. Why do you think I rail on undercover hack bitches?pineapplemike wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:29 amHonestly, if the vague assault accusation had indeed taken him down, it would feel like a hollow victory to me, speaking as someone that isn't super stoked about him being on the court in the first place. One thing that enrages me is when these cowards proclaim he didn't deserve the presumption of innocence because this was a "job interview".
In what fucking job interview is your life destroyed by a lying accusation? Once somebody starts accusing another of rape, somebody has to go to prison. If the accuser is lying, then lock her up.

If the guy didn't want his reputation ruined, he should have thought about that before he was falsely accused of rape.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 1:55 pmOne thing that enrages me is when these cowards proclaim he didn't deserve the presumption of innocence because this was a "job interview".

No, that is not how the presumption of innocence works.Once somebody starts accusing another of rape, somebody has to go to prison.

Sure, I can presume innocence while noticing that Kavanaugh’s testimony is full of evasions and deception. I can look at the circumstantial evidence and find it puzzling that an otherwise credible Ford would lie to her therapist in 2012 about being assaulted by a man that is now high up in Washington, or if she was telling the truth, to twist that truth to blame an innocent man that is also in Washington.DBTrek wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:59 amThen you agree with most of us, who are celebrating the survival of “presumption of innocence” as a cultural norm. Being on the Supreme Court is not a right, just because I presume Kavanaugh is innocent doesn’t mean I am not troubled by the accusations, or by his dishonest testimony.
