As I've stated before, Trump is teaching the GOP how to win and not be a cuck.
It's a long road for some of them. What we see in Graham is a guy that finally realizes he can tell people that are full of shit they can go to hell. And that's ok.

Maybe a little, but the culmination of his life's work is months away and he doesn't want it sullied. If GOP hold the Senate Majority he becomes chair of the Judiciary committee, he wants that, he needs that. So he believes what he was saying there but there was a bit of "y'all motherfuckers ain't gonna roll like that with me, Grassley may let that fly but I aint playing that shit."
If what I understand of that contract the incentive to fire her isnt worth it. You might as well keep her on just to stop her from going someplace else.

They're already committed to the payout over the duration of the contract. They try to fire her, she can claim harassment of whatever and she and maybe take them over the coals for more. Probably safer to just let her contact period run out and choose not to renew it. It's only 3 years, nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Not sure anyone else would want her at this point, at least not at that price, I doubt that's even part of their thinking.
