My contention is this: if society does not address the abuse of workers exemplified by Amazon's warehouses and distribution centers, it will certainly slowly creep to most of the economic sectors. Middle class folks don't give a shit because the people suffering (for now) are unskilled laborers in the working poor. Eventually even software engineers will be tracked and managed in a similar fashion if we make this legitimate.

The somewhat amusing irony of DB's trolling is that his propensity to come in here and insult people during work hours is exactly what he won't be able to do when every second of his workday is tracked and analyzed.

Labor is not worth much bc of automation and massive population growth....services sector jobs are next as AI gets smarter....

DB and Fife are entrenched in “Always Capitalism”....but some large cracks are appearing.... Bezos and Amazon are doing exactly what they should....provide a service as cheap as possible....Hash has a strong point about monopolies....but the capital required to get into the modern services and manufacturing industries are way beyond the reach of 99% of the population.

But, its worth a shot at breaking big tech up via anti-monopoly laws to see what happens in the market.

Requiring employers to pay people for their work (Amazon forces them to work part of the day for free) and requiring them to provide adequate time and access to restrooms in order to shit and puss during the day without being fired, are simple regulatory fixes.

It is not complicated.

You have to pay emoyers for their work.

You have to low emiyees to take a shit.
