Has any of our fans of the 4th amendment pointed out that Brett Kavanaugh was one of the greatest supporters of the patriot act when he served as associate White House Counsel for then-President George W. Bush yet?
If only someone would oppose Kavanaugh on this Constitutional basis.
We pretty much know the Kavanator is going to bone us on the Personal Liberties area. A lot of us are not happy with the him as a pick, but are utterly disgusted at the travesty being engineered by a few.
Dan Carlin talked a lot about these kinds of things years ago. The Democrats started pushing for control, forgetting what would happen once they lost that control. Kavanaugh will get confirmed, but he really shouldn't, and it's all thanks to the rule change pushed through by the democrats.
I really think a supreme court member should have support from both sides. But those aren't the rules anymore, just a simple majority.
The Democrats can really thank themselves for this shitshow.
They were so arrogant they didn't think they'd ever be out of power. I remember the reports back then repeatedly telling us that the Dems would never lose another major election. The Democrat Party has always had this real hardline tyrant quality to them. Goes all the way back to Tammany Hall and slavery. The GOP has always had this kind of soft pussy quality from their origin as abolitionists.

I don't really see much of a difference between the democrats and the republicans in this regard. Now, Republicans are having a good time, putting in their judges, but they're still doing what the democrats planned to do. The democrats will be in power some time in the future too, and they'll do exactly the same. The republicans should, if they really opposed this sort of power grab, reverse the simple majority rule. But they won't. Because now, they're in power.
Both parties are tyrannical. It's just that people are ok with it if they can avoid the "other" tyranny.

Dude, it is war at this point. GOP cucks have been taking the high road for decades only for corrupt, criminal democrats to abuse goodwill. If the GOP reversed the nuclear option to take the high road, democrats would stall every God damned nominee, and when they get control of both branches, they will just switch it back and murder the American people for good with open borders and anti-white, anti-male discrimination everywhere.
The democratic party has to be destroyed before we start taking about that type of shit. We have to get rid of most of the illegal immigrants and their children. You cannot have high-level politics in a multicultural society. It is only low-intensity political warfare, as Sweden now should realize.

+1. I'm so tired of partisans. We have a single party that is in 100% agreement on the really important things. Which party wants us out of war? Which party wants to scale back government to it's constitutional responsibilities only? Which party wants to control spending? Which party wants to stop the surveillance of its' citizens? How about civil forfeiture? War on drugs? It's all about controlling the proles. These stupid wedge issues are used as jingly keys to keep people busy while they rape us in the ass.
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

If people who are tired of Partisans would have supported Trump he would not have to run back to the machine for support. Trump was attacking the main DC cogs on both sides. Remember Cocaine Mitch and low energy Jeb?
When he got to DC, because a lack of public support, he had to bend over and let the machine have its way with him or he was well on his way to being run out of town on fabricated claims that he colluded with Putin.
Trump still represents the most independent president this country has had since Carter.
“I've got a phone that allows me to convene Americans from every walk of life, nonprofits, businesses, the private sector, universities to try to bring more and more Americans together around what I think is a unifying theme..." - Obama
I don't think one of the Parties has ever been women-centric (anti-man even) before. Prohibition was a women thing, and would indicate that women had control of one of the 2 Parties at the time, but women couldn't even vote then so kind of ruins the example.
Adams & Jefferson were total enemies at this level but that was before Parties.
Trump is a force unto himself, not loyal to either Party, so it's not him.
I don't think what's going on now has any historical precedence.
