??? Stalin did fine.
He was a man. Him and his bros had manly parties.
socialism/communism runs on pure female power structure, dude. It's a projection of inner circle power into the outer circle (politics and economics).

Daycare State.
Sounds like something Asian man and Russians might be into not just women.

It's better to think of it in terms of outer and inner circle power structures of a society. Women traditionally dominated the inner circle (and still do). Men traditionally dominated the outer circle (and no longer do, which is why our civilization is falling apart right now).

Women are not naturally equipped to wield power in the outer circle. They don't understand basic shit like limitations of power or even how to wield that kind of power. They approach everything in our world like they do in their world, which is why you get these nanny states and moral laws. This kind of nanny state shittiness began in America as soon as women got the vote. They immediately began to do that shit, banning alcohol and drugs, prostitution (it was a threat to their power), etc. They just don't process how stupid such laws are, fixating only on the perceived threat to women.

You can see the worst of it happening in the economic realm, with major corporations losing their capacity to innovate very fast as they increasingly have to hire more useless employees for social justice concerns and just to maintain the growing HR behemoth in order to deal with women bitching about everything.

I believe it's actually possible for women to operate in the outer circle without destroying civilization, but a lot has to change. Also, if we are going to share outer circle power with chicks, then they need to share the inner circle -- no more default custody, double standards, controlling most household finances, etc. No more ability to influence men to "protect" women. Women have to protect themselves now. If you want to share the outer circle with me, you better be prepared to stand by my side and hold the motherfucking line if the time comes.

What does inner circle mean? The family?

There were two contempary pledges going around in the 1890s. And the author your referring to was a Christian and a Nationaist but you left that out of course. Liberals don't believe in loyalty or authority or sanctity. I get it.
Bellamy was a Socialist. Sure, a Christian one, but still absolutely a Socialist. And yeah, I know Communist and Socialist is not the same thing, but as if most people here would acknowledge that there was that much difference between those two philosophies, and it was for that reason it's funny.

And I believe in both loyalty and authority, and there are things I hold sacred for my society.

I just don't believe in wrapping those things up in useless ritualism. You're either sincere or you're not, a liar will pledge just as readily as an honest man. If your beliefs require pageantry to be believed... your beliefs just can't be that sincere.
Culturally and citizenship wise what are you loyal to?
What should a people hold sacred?
Rituals are useless to you not everyone.
She was also a nationalist , right? ...yes the author was.
In the US you could replace the boring anthem with reciting the First and the second with ocassionaly shooting a pretend/real gun into the air. You could replace the pledge with recitting the 1st, 2nd and the 4th.

How about a voluntary a cappella rendition of Dixie? Or a moment of silence while playing Elvis' mashup with the Battle Hymn?

That's a decent temporary use until the auctions can be scheduled.

My old high school is perfectly designed for a pirate theme, or maybe a tropical space odyssey theme with the sky walks, open architecture, and atriums with palm trees and flower gardens.

Not timeless and essentialist enough.

Good point. Probably should go with John D. Hale's I am a Rebel Soldier.

Rituals are useless to you not everyone.
She was also a nationalist , right? ...yes the author was.
1. Danish culture, the Danish society and democracy (and less so, the Danish state). Also our monarchy, which is a little bit of both state, society and a living historical link to the beginning of the state a little over a millenia ago.

2. There is no universal answer to that. My culture generally don't hold things all that "sacred". We respect, we have traditions, things we care for, but pomp and circumstance, elaborate rituals with trumpets and fanfares at strategic places...? You either ARE something or someone or you're NOT. You take something serious by engaging with it, or with them, not by putting it up on a pedestal. That's (traditionally) been how we see things here.

Holding things sacred is also not the same as placing value on rituals and pomp and circumstance. A truth does not become more of a truth by association with some great, big solemn ritual. Conversely, nor does it become less of a truth by association by not having any ritual attached at all. It is the truth and can stand on its own.

3. Nope, and "everyone" doesn't matter. If God doesn't strike people down every timesomeone swears, oh so solemny, with their hand on the Bible to tell the truth, but instead tell a lie? Then that ritual is objectively useless relative to its purpose. Punish liars, punish people who forsake, abandon and betray their duties, absolutely... but unless you can come up with a device that accurately indicates wether or not someone is actively lying during an ritualistic oath involving trumpets, tear-invoking dramatic violin music... spend the time doing something useful, instead.

If you're honest, if you're serious about say military service or speaking the truth in court, you don't need a ritual to validate that. You just do it. Wouldn't you much rather have it be assumed, be expected, that you, when you join the military or speak in court (or whatever), can and will do your duty?

4. "He" (if we're talking Bellamy), but you're right, I misremembered him. Just looked him up on wikipedia now. Considering he apparantly started something called the "Society of Christian Socialists", it's fair to say that he at least considered himself a Socialist, and while that's not neccesarily an indicator that someone's a Socialist, given his views on capitalism it's probably an accurate fit. Not sure of what importance you place on him being both a Socialist, Nationalist and Christian? You think one of them "cancel" the other out? ;)
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.
