Yeah, you should probably avoid living in a place where you hold contempt and intolerance for the first calls. Yankees have to Yankee, I suppose.

I want you to imagine Southerners taking over most of the small cities in the Northeast, constantly expressing their contempt for the locals and New York culture, and going out of their way to literally eradicate every cultural artifact therein.

Yeah, to be fair the NY transplants managed to eff up Florida pretty good. It’s a messed up place, but it’s REAL. I mean real in the Compton sense of the word. And it has its own, very distinct culture.
But like cancer cells, Snow birds kill it one transplant at a time. They don’t do traffic any favors, either.

You’d think NY State is only the city.

You are talking from a lack of knowledge, I'm afraid. S Florida isn't prone to surge levels like they experience in NC and NO, due to the depth of the shelf offshore. It's very shallow in NC, with seven rivers flooding at record levels. Our topography isn't as flat, either. We have the Everglades to absorb some of the water, also. Another factor, Florida doesn't have excess rainfall pouring down from the mountains to the East to add to the problem. Lots of issues that make a 3-day rain event due to a stand still hurricane in NC completely different from a fast moving hurricane in SF that passes in 12 hours.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 3:10 pmBut was Irma a biblical cat 1 superstorm of the century proving Trump is destroying the world with his disbelief in global warming??
I don't think Floridians can process the gravity of what we are enduring here.
Send money.
Again, this was not a hurricane event. It's a surge event. Two completely different things. Get back to me after you've stayed put in a major flood zone because it's only a cat 1.
Note - Ike was only a cat 2, yet it's the 4th most expensive hurricane in our history, due to the surge issue.
Dude - immerse your house & car completely in water for 10 days and let me know how that works out for you. I don't recommend it, but if you need to do that to prove that water damage is worse than wind damage, go for it.
There are no category assignments for surge. A level 1 hurricane can do more damage than a five, depending on the surge situation.
The leading cause of death from hurricanes is not the wind; it's the surge.
This is another Katrina. It's only smaller in scope because the population on the East Coast of NC is far less dense than NO. The water damage is of the same style.
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

I have been in two traffic accidents in the last year. One was in November on 436 in Altamonte. The other was in Daytona in April. I was completely not at fault for both cases. The first one I was stopped at a light for over a minute, and a lady who didn't speak English decided to rear end me. The Daytona lady decided to Tbone my car when I was driving home from a buddies house. She didn't have insurance and spoke a wonderful ebonics dialect. In both instances, the cops immediately knew I wasn't at fault, but decided not to arrest the offending parties. That second accident fucked my back up for a week, and ruined my car. Because she didn't have insurance, I got a $300 check from my company. How fucked up is that? I can get on the road, operate a dangerous motor vehicle, not even be responsible enough to have a license or the means to pay for what I damage, hit you, and not suffer any serious consequences. If these dumb bitches hit me differently, I could be paralyzed and shitting in a bag as I type. And they wouldn't get in any kind of legal trouble. The next person that hits me, no matter how frivolous, I am going to pursue legal action through some sleazy daytime tv lawyer. I am sick of these Florida driver pieces of shit. I am getting mad thinking about this. I am a person who has not made good choices throughout their life, but I would never dream of driving without a license or insurance. That seems insane to me. These individuals were grown ass adults who were probably on every government program on the books, but incapable of doing even basic adult shit. Fuck them and fuck the laws in my state that allow them to get off the hook. I often wonder if pieces of shit like this are rampant elsewhere, or if its just in Florida.HarryK wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 4:39 pmEspecially without a license let alone insurance.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 4:38 pmYeah, to be fair the NY transplants managed to eff up Florida pretty good. As far as I know it’s a Florida thing. Shit even the insurance rates are cheaper in Upstate NY vs Florida. Been smacked twice by seniors that didn’t have a license let alone insurance. Also noticed there’s no vehicle inspections down here. Seen way to many cars and trucks held together by chickenwire.heydaralon wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 4:53 pmI have been in two traffic accidents in the last year.
