Go easy, Florida.

StA has some decent anti-gouging laws up there in NC, but he ain't got a raving hellion like Pam Bondi to enforce that shit for him.
Trade offs, man. Maybe you can’t make any money shipping in generators, bottled water, or batteries before the hurricane, but you can still sell a few pine boxes afterward.

It’s all about trade offs.
Just as long as no one makes any money by taking extraordinary steps to provide critical resources before or during a disaster, it’s all good.

Now's the time to corner the market on waterproof pine boxes down there. Louisiana has had this shit figured out for centuries.

Can you get us a patent and a Florida exclusive license, Martin? I'll try to get DB to agree to cut you in for a percent.

For about ten more days. Not gonna miss fucking lower Alabama.
Do you live in the panhandle? I used to go to Fort Walton beach with my family. Despite its reputation, there is some beautiful sights near the coast up there.
Port Richey off of suicide 19. A more barren 4 lane highway litter with strip malls. I much prefer upstate NY.
Aside from the traffic and shit drivers, I have always liked the Tampa/Clearwater part of Florida. I live in Central Florida, but I used to visit Clearwater every year with my family. I went fishing in Tampa with my buddy a few years ago and he caught 2 blowfish. I'm sorry its not working out for you, but gulf side Florida coast has a place in my heart. A lot of good memories there. Everyone says that Clearwater has the best beach in the State, but Lido Beach in Sarasota is far better imo. And Sanibel? Fucking beautiful.

What did Tampa ever do to you? I used to go their aquarium often, visit my buddy who lived down there (he also did drill weekend there too), go to the beach, eat at the seafood places in Clearwater etc. I don't live there. Never have. But I did a lot of cool shit there. Are you one of those people that just hates Florida as a state, or is there a particular reason you especially despise Tampa?

Had a blast in Tampa and Clearwater but the housing prices are insane let alone dealing with the air b&b assholes.

The Pub at the International Plaza rocked. But the reality is that I miss the four seasons and my two churches back home. The Biergarten and the English Pub.

I’ll still come back to visit and this weekend I’m hanging with Kath and Nerd.

Even better yet I know the owners of the Curry Mansion Inn at the Keys. Did the 2 1/2 day pub crawl. If I’m back I’m hanging there in November or March. Too damm hot and humid for this white Irish kid.
You high fiving MF’er

He's from Orlando. Everything is better than that. We grew up in the same places. He went to a gay high school, though. Also, Windermere is gay and their cops are assholes. Gotha used to be a fucking cow pasture back in the 80s. Literally. That and a crumbling old convenience store with the "no color" sign still fading.

Both my bosses are from Ohio. I didn't even give this any thought until about 2 years ago, but it is insane how many people from up North move to Florida. Those fuckers make my commute home after work a living hell. Lincoln Loving I-4 clogging auto-wrecking-brake-checking-rubber-necking sons-a-bitches that they are. I think Texas is having the same problem with Californians.

Orlando is shit for sure, but its mainly because of all the roadwork they are doing on I4. Fucking exit closing, detours, all while dealing with increasing traffic. If it wasn't or that, it would just be a run of the mill shithole city. And its not all bad. I used to live in Maitland, which is a great city. My girlfriend and I visit Winter Park, and Oakland Fl is also great. Winter Garden is trying revamp itself as some trendy gentrified hipster haven, and there is some cool shit there as well. Some great biking trails for sure. It could be worse. I could be living near Fife and not have access to penicillin, dental care, or a good football team. Whatever happens, the Gators are dominating the SEC. The stats speak for themselves.

Nah, Tampa/Clearwater is my old stomping grounds.

Largo/St.Petersburg if you want to get technical, though the Clearwater city limit sign was only a block down the road. Lived seven years in that mess. Talk about white trashville, holy jeez. Only city I ever lived in where they put a wall around a trailer park and pretended it was a gated community.

Was a good place to learn to fight tho. Florida rednecks will fuck you up if you don’t learn quick. I was twelve my first summer there and I got in more fights that year than all years up to that point combined. First time a one-eyed hockey kid tried to drown me at Sand Key. First time I had the opportunity to get laid (that’s right, I was twelve. TWELVE. Not kidding about the white trash part). First time I had a knife pulled on me by a drunk.

... and it went downhill from there. The next six years only managed to get progressively crazier and more violent.

Nice beaches tho.
Probably great to visit - because you get to leave.
