I know N.C. has worse flooding but are a lot of part of S.C. badly flooded to? I try not to watch news much so I don't know. Curious though.
SC took damage, but they are in much better shape overall. 1.5 million lost power at some point, but NC was most of that, around 1M.

1.2 million have been restored so far.

I-95 is back up in SC, but not NC. NC is losing bridges - saw an image of a semi that went right into a ditch created by the bridge being washed away.

2,000 roads closed in NC, but I can't find a count in SC. It's a whole lot less.

I miss Florence already. Had a great few days. Partly cloudy. A little bit of sun rain mist. Temps in the 70s.

It is already Africa hot again.

Last Spring we had so much rain entire neighborhoods and about half the farms flooded. No national news. Not enough drama for fake news to get the ratings, and not enough FEMA bucks to be had, I guess. Whatever.

What a fucking joke.

The people on the coast faced a Cat 1 hurricane. That sucks, but a biblical storm of the century? LMAO

Before it made landfall, they were saying it's Trump's fault because he doesn't believe in global warming and global warming is clearly responsible.

I believed them at first. Then it became clear it was nothing more than a run of the mill small hurricane.

This kind of fake news is really dangerous, since when the next storm really is dangerous people are not going to evacuate.

Record rainfall, record flooding levels, some rivers haven't even crested yet, thousands rescued because they didn't heed the warnings to leave, 2,000 roads underwater and not usable, thousands of homes completely underwater. The water is still rising and some rivers haven't crested yet.

But these people are pussies because they left. Lol...

Hey, you, idiot who evacuated - what's the problem? You have no power, no home, no passable roads, no emergency services, no food, etc.... and you chose to leave. WTF?

Hype.

It came right over me. Totally hyped up. We had FAR more rainfall earlier this year. Not even close.

I see. It didn't impact you, personally, therefore it's a total non-event. That's a pretty myopic way to determine if a storm caused serious damage.

ETA - Hurricane rule #1 - hide from the wind, run from the serge. We'll never have to evacuate, even though we are only 5 miles from the ocean. We bought a fortress, wrt hurricane preparedness.

Please quote your source that you had more rainfall earlier this year in this little time.
Preliminary reports from the National Weather Service say that as of noon on Saturday, over 30 inches of rain has fallen in Swansboro, N.C. Florence's 30 inches of rainfall has broken the statewide rainfall record set by Hurricane Floyd in 1999 of 24.06 inches.4 days ago

I am saying: it's not that big of a deal like they are hyping it to be. FFS. How long have you lived in Florida now?? It was a Cat 1 storm.
