Why does every nation have to be the same? (That's Marxists ideology, I know, but I'm a liberty person.) Emigrate.

Negative. My opinion of your Aggy history degree at this point is not favorable to your cause.

I have posted sources. You have posted zero. You just made personal attacks on me and buried your loss in already two pages of insults.
What’s this? You demand people with greater credentials live up to standards you justify dismissing with your lesser ones? Well, I guess that says a lot about you.
/shrug
Show me some sources. I posted mine. You just insulted your way through the past (now) three pages. That's not an argument. That's just being an ass. Is that what they taught you in Aggy school?

Who said they have to be the same?

I am just pointing out the fundamental flaws in the argument that America is somehow the greatest quality of life when it is not. It has nothing to do with economies and everything to do with our original values of exploitation.

We were founded on slavery and indentured servitude. That evil past left it's mark on our value system. That's all I am saying. I don't particularly feel like joining the Euros. They have some other issues of their own (obviously).

I just think we need to be realistic instead of arguing from our ideological fantasies. Let's be realistic about what we are instead of pretending like this myth is real. That's what rubs me the wrong fucking way. It's the lies.

What economic system do you find outperforming capitalism? Or, alternatively, if capitalism is about to expire and make way for a better system - what is that system?

Because the only people I normally find complaining about capitalism are those who do poorly at it. They prefer systems where their rewards far out-strip their production, and the only way humans have been able to make that work is by redistributing the productive rewards of others.

George Washington never told a lie, and Honest Abe never rigged an election, and America has the greatest quality of life in the world.

Get outta here with the lies.

There is no statutory minimum paid vacation or paid public holidays. It is left to the employers to offer paid vacation.[166][167] According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 77% of private employers offer paid vacation to their employees; full-time employees earn on average 10 vacation days after one year of service.[168] Similarly, 77% of private employers give their employees paid time off during public holidays, on average 8 holidays per year.[168][169] Some employers offer no vacation at all.[170] The average number of paid vacation days offered by private employers is 10 days after 1 year of service, 14 days after 5 years, 17 days after 10 years, and 20 days after 20 years.

Damn - when I hit the 15th year, I got an additional 5 days, which puts me currently at 27. I have an option every year to buy 5 more, which I always do, so I currently have 32 PTO days/year, plus eight holidays.

I get another 5 days in 7 years, which will be nice as I get closer to retirement.

:?:

If that was an answer I’m afraid it was too advanced for my limited understanding.
What is the superior economic system?

You can see the danger of replacing the historical reality with a mythology in what is happening in Sweden. They do everything possible to erase their past, even to the point of denying who they are. But by pretending this mythology of a peaceful, neutral Sweden is the reality they lost their identity. Their past had some hard edges to it, but it's still a very cool and noble heritage. Now most young Swedes know fuck all about it.

You should be willing to be truthful with yourself and your own history, good and bad.

So you are just below the average vacation days in Sweden, and at the far end of the distribution for Americans.

So ... capitalism is king.

Cool.
Just wanted to win an utter and undeniable victory for capitalism in this thread. Let the anti-capitalists commence with the wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I’m out.
