Women only priests is the answer. The vast majority of child sexual abuse is committed by men.
Or maybe instead of engaging in identity politics you should address the fact that this has been covered up for decades and that is the real evil here. When complaints have been made about a priest they have been moved to another diocese rather than being handed over to the police.
The prosecution rates are woefully low when it comes to child abusing priests.

StA rule number one;
If you can't blame women then you must blame homosexuals.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Actually, no.

Women commit more of these crimes than men, statistically. Further, they are by far the predominate child abusers.

Pope history is full of kiddie fuckers and war mongers.

I am German-Catholic on both sides. Been to the fish fries. Gambled at the picnics. Drank the beer.

I enjoy the feeling of community that exists in the Catholic congregation.

I was considering re-joining the church in the last few years. This shit just shows the faults in a religion that places man any where near the level of a "god on earth".

Explain to me why God gives two fucks about rubbing ash on your forehead or any of the other silly traditions Catholics insist must be done in order to be a proper Catholic.

God don't care about that non-sense. If he did, he'd be the most self-absorbed God in the universe.

I miss the community, not the dogma. We really need to form new social structures. This online shit is a poor substitute.

There's a utility to dogma i.e. tradition and ritual, obviously. Its not for you or anyone to intellectualize it or try to rationalize it. You do it or you don't.

That "dogma" is what makes such a special congregation though. Its like being hazed into a fraternity. Mass and the traditions surrounding it is a constant hazing. In the past, when the congregation was mostly illiterate those sermons provided much more value to the community than they do now.

Now the rituals are more important than the sermon because that is how you stay connected to the rest of the church.

I'll grant you that rituals might in fact be more important for illiterate peoples but I'd argue they are still important now. Habits become life. People build connections through a variety of means. Praying, fasting, singing, dancing, feasting, etc. etc. These things were codified over millennia and there is wisdom to them and more than that those rituals are ways to spirituality.

Group rituals are essential to bonding. That’s not in dispute.

I just don’t miss all of the guilting and fear and virtue signaling associated with organized religion. It’s not healthy.
