What do you expect for nearly 25 years of Democrat Rule? (Yes the governor wasn't always Democrat but the majority of CT was).

If you look at it this way, the majority of states that are having finance issues are majority controlled for a long period of time by the Democrat Party... the party that thinks throwing money at a problem instead of actually solving the problem is the answer.

Data clearly shows that CT's high taxes are absolutely killing the state - links show that mass immigration from India/Pakistan and the Caribbean have masked the evidence of the exodus from CT by tax payers.....

I don't mind the immigrants (they've done a good job assimilating here (so far - and the Indians and Caribbeans usually speak English (as English is their official language))) - but there's no way they're going to replace the tax base anytime soon....

CT is already fiscally insolvent by many measures - Bonds are hovering and/or are at Junk......I've been unofficially told by a friend who works in a large investments house that they have been told to not propose CT bonds to their clients...and that they're internal strategy wonks have CT going bankrupt as a foregone conclusion....

Yet CT is going to continue to vote for politicians who are beholden to Public Unions....

You all should watch the CT elections coming up - I know for a fact many corporations are planning on leaving if DNC maintains strangle hold....

You mean the parts of CT that aren't commutable to NYC or wealthy second home/retirement areas.

Not to be flippant about CT. Or NJ for that matter. They are two states that should have stellar economies and have done everything possible to prevent success. Yet they are still magnets for the affluent.

CT's pension obligation about about to go over 70% of the annual budget - MA isn't even close....Also, CT prop tax is close to double MA.

Just look at Hartford - nothing survives their because the 70+ mil rate.


CT politicians made a bunch of bogus contracts with state workers when times were good - now the bill is coming due and it's going to tear the state apart.


So - Ned will get elected governor with a DNC senate and house and Prop taxes will go up even more - Prop tax is most regressive tax since it gets passed straight to renters.

State politicians are beholden to state workers who want what they were promised even if it means driving the state off a fiscal cliff. Most state workers leave CT when they retire.
