A news story about a civil war ≠ Manipulation to get you to "do" something about it.

Why should accepting the fact that Assad dropped barrel bombs mean we'd want to go to war? You seem to assume that the only reason anyone would, or would want, to report on world news, all has to do with wanting to go war?

When I read a story about Ethiopia fighting Somalia, I don't think: "Gee, this story is in the news... that must mean we must go to war to help either Ethiopia or Somalia." Nor is that the reason media everywhere in the world report on world events.

Seriously, Martin. When you read about a problem somewhere in the world, don't always assume that the author is making you aware of it because they want you, or your country to deal with it.

Our media actually has an established history of publishing international stories only when the IC wants us to go to war.

Listening to another opinion is not being manipulated. I listen to perhaps a dozen (sometimes more) podcasts a day, everybody saying all kinds of shit. I pride myself on being able to interpret and discern what I hear. I am the "Wysest Myn in the Wyrld" after all.

RT is walking an Old School journalism line in an attempt to gain credibility. Maybe they'll use that credibility in the future to manipulate the narrative but they haven't so far, and I'm very suspicous.
