He's not even paying federal taxes. He doesn't pay a dime towards those welfare benefits. You do.

No unemployment- no benefits. Why is that so hard? It’s supposed to a safety net, not a crutch.
It comes back to the minimum wage argument - should those whose production is insufficient to sustain themselves be forbidden to produce at all? If your skills and labor aren’t valuable enough to afford you an independent lifestyle, should you be completely shut out of the job market?

That’s what happens every time we jack minimum wage. When it goes to $15 an hour, any job not worth that wage and any worker whose maximum productivity falls below that level are shut out of the economy.

Likewise, telling corporations that anyone they hire must no longer receive welfare benefits is only going to (further) shut welfare recipients out of the economy.

Why should a venture that can’t even support its employees be kept alive artificially? It takes away human reesources from otherwise sustainable companies. And the tax payers pick up the bill.

I think you are engaging in a chicken or the egg argument here. From my perspective, people whose "production is insufficient to sustain themselves" got that way precisely because corporations have learned to exploit the welfare system. This type of shit didn't happen in the past. People used to be able to get good middle class jobs no problem. We offshored many of those jobs. We gutted the labor force with illegal and visa immigrants. But by "we" I really mean the corporations that have a lock on the state and federal government.

It's fucking socialism for the rich. Bezos is both the richest man in the world and the biggest welfare queen in the world.

It can support its employees, if it replaces family-having welfare recipients with single young adults. Then the taxpayers can pay more per jobless welfare recipient, and the businesses can operate free from the bizarre accusation that their job creation has somehow also created social welfare recipients.

We could also end the immigration policies that Jeff Bezos paid for. We could make that motherfucker pay taxes too.

Lots of options on the table..

Count me down as not a fucking fan of socialism for Jeff Bezos. Thanks anyway.

Those efforts seem more sound than demanding that any employer offering any kind of job must ensure whomever they employ never requires state assistance.

I am not making that demand. I am just making the case that it's fucking silly to throw Amazon out there as some great example of jobs-creating capitalism. He killed more jobs than he created and he refuses to pay many of his employees a decent wage. It's socialism for Jeff Bezos.

Having people on welfare doing jobs in the private sector is just as bad as employing illegals. SubhumanFarmer wants cheap tomatoes and Amazon customers want TP delivered to their doorstep almost for free. Rent seekers who don’t realize they get to pay for it anyway in the end.

Second largest employer in the nation, on track to being a trillion dollar company (first ever). Pays way more than aka and Pandime store or Farmer Joe’s tomato pickin’.
