Yep, I don't know about water into wine or jumping over a tall building in a single bound, but I'm pretty sure any of us can freely chose to stop breathing at just about any time, and abruptly and with certainty at that.

In fact, logic and evidence convinces me that the only reason I'm breathing right now is because I am choosing to do so. Feels good.

Since it isn’t really falsifiable it seems hard to prove. We always ultimately do whatever it is we decide to do. Folks can say “that was predetermined, you didn’t really choose it”, but we can’t go back in time and test it again. All we can say is you made a choice. We can never rewind time and see if sometimes you make a different choice.

And even if you make the same choice every time, does that eliminate free will? Not necessarily. What if every time you walk outside you decide to put on shoes. There are many reasons that may always seem like the best choice, but it doesn’t mean you’re powerless to choose otherwise. You are simply disinclined to make an alternative choice every time the situation arises.

I can't make my heart stop beating by willing it and I can't make my intestines stop processing the food I ate. Ergo - no free will.

Me too, I've thus far been thoroughly unsuccessful at willing the sun not to rise and willing myself to be teleported to another earth-like planet elsewhere in the universe. Therefore free will must not exist.

Nah, he was an ok guy, I just don’t trust soldiers who wander off in the middle of wars, or don’t shoot at enemies in combat. You want to get yourself killed, fine. But don’t get other people killed on account of your unreliability under pressure.

By the way, just wrapped up all five Seasons of the Twilight Zone this week. I’ve officially seen them all, which was a random goal I imposed on myself due to having no free will or something. RS was a good storyteller. He was also a bit of a story-lifter, though I suppose we all have our influences. The gap between the best TZ episodes and the worst is so wide that it’s puzzling to think the same man produced both.

True story: I am the only person I ever met who can control my diaphragm and (usually) stop hiccups.

I rarely even get hiccups at all because of this.

Are any of you like this?

Did that last year. (Also, STOS and STNG)
On YouTube, there's every episode of James Burke's various series, like "Connections." I've watched them all twice. Also on YouTube, "Age of Uncertainty" by John Galbraith, and "Free to Choose " by Milton Freedom.

Because of UHF syndication in Memphis, I think I had gotten all the half-hour episodes multiple times by around 1985. I definitely had seen every Star Trek TOS at least 5 times by then, as well as every B/W Andy Griffith episode multiple times (was never a fan of the "coloreds" as we called them from 1966-1968).

I finished up the whole series a while back by getting all the hour long episodes. Some of those were pretty good. The series as a whole is of course uneven. I think Serling was a decent author, but the strength of the series was obviously Matheson, Beaumont, Bradbury, et al, IMNSHO. https://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zone-Or ... 1567310656

Now, I don't know if you've ever dabbled in Night Gallery, but I would counsel caution, especially if you have any warm feelings for RS at all. I think he just wasn't suited for the Hollywood life and the grind of the biz.

Look at this LSD inspired picture. LOOK AT IT! Oy vey, get me outta here.

PS, now that you've seen them all, which is your favorite episode outside of the traditional "top 10 episodes" lists? http://www.ign.com/articles/the-top-10- ... e-episodes

Mine is one of the Beaumont classics: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0734645/
