Re: Forum Stats
I’ve taken lots of heat over the years. Packs nipping at my heels is a common phenomenon, but running for federal office, this stuff gets weaponized.
Many of the attackers make only ad hominem attacks. Really bad stuff. Get 5 or 6 people calling you names everytime you post, that’s a tough cocoon to break out of.

Who knows which candidate was behind it, but because it was FB, you could theoretically hire somebody to track them down and find evidence of them donating time or belonging to somebody's campaign.
Alternatively, you can opt for more broadcast-style social media like Trump does. They can troll you there too, but it's not that easy and only brings more views anyway.

Democratic Party ain’t no place for a white man.
Not these days.

My main tool was simply typing the word “surrogate” after every nasty post. Often that FB identity would disappear, and a new one show up. In FB, just go to an attacker’s homepage and see what hashtag or campaign sign they have posted, to identify the enemy.
Still, me continuing my message every fifth post, surrounded by invective, was not a successful strategy.

The ones you saw were but the answer is no. The incumbent Republican candidate had several surrogates go at me hard, and another of the Dem candidates did too. BTW, I have no illusions about my candidacy; I've admitted here several times that I couldn't get elected dog-catcher, and "I'm a constituency of 1." My message does not appeal to envy nor greed - who's left?

I think you could get elected in some places, just not there.
Or, more to the point, it would take a lot more work to win there than some other areas.
