Who is arguing that she isn't guilty?
I'm just arguing for more honest debate.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I would not use the still as evidence of sexual attraction, but being wrong is not being "dishonest". Dishonesty is lying.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:12 amWho is arguing that she isn't guilty?

I am questioning whether he was the victim or the predator here, though.BjornP wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:00 amMonte, stop. A still from a film is indeed not evidence, but it's also not the only evidence the kid's provided, and even if you discount the boy's story simply as a story, he had provided text messages, instagram captions (that were deleted but saved)...but he had cut a deal not to show the photos they took (guess he might lose the settlement money now - not sure how that works).Montegriffo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 9:18 am
I would say that she is acting what ever emotions the director tells her to.
Your still from a film is not adequate evidence of anything except perhaps the pitfalls of confirmation bias.
And then there's this from the NYT, so it's obviously all lies, fake news, and propaganda simply as a rule, but if it isn't, well:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/27/arts ... nnett.html
(And "Rain Dove" is the name of her partner/girlfriend/boyfriend/itfriend, not the name of a soothingly perfurmed brand of soap).Ms. McGowan released her statement a few days after the celebrity news website TMZ published screenshots of what it said was a text-message conversation between Ms. Argento and a person the website called “a friend.” The spokeswoman for Rain Dove confirmed on Monday that Rain Dove was the friend.
In her statement, Ms. McGowan described Ms. Argento as someone who had been a friend whom she had “loved” — all in the past tense. Ms. McGowan also said she had urged her partner to tell the police about the texts from Ms. Argento, which Rain Dove told Ms. McGowan had been done. Ms. McGowan also acknowledged that she had worried that the #MeToo movement “was about to be in jeopardy.”
I do not like this chick, and if California says banging a 17 year old is a crime then it is a crime, but it seems like he kept sending her nudes and coming on to her until she relented.
I am not justifying what she did, but I am not convinced she did anything worse than consensual sex with a minor. It would have been weird as fuck because of the age difference, and it is apparently a crime in Cali, but it wasn't like she abused any power over him. She had no power over him. She probably could take him in a fight, but I doubt that even occurs to a chick like her.

I think she's earned our suspicions.

Look, I am just saying it doesn't seem so cut and dry to me. The fact that he went for the money makes it even more suspect to me. I have to be even-handed here. If this were a woman making the accusation against a semi-successful man (who's partner happens to be rich as fuck), then I'd be equally skeptical about the story.
I mean.. I am not skeptical that she fucked him, and apparently that was a crime in California. There is a photo of them naked in bed together stolen from her phone, I guess.
But was that her coming on to him? Not sure about that. She alleged privately to a friend that he kept sending her nudes and pursued her relentlessly until she gave him a piece of her ass.
It's bad enough without the other allegations of rape thrown in there.
While I definitely am not cool with teachers and other people in authority abusing their power and access like that, I am not going to sit here and pretend like a 17 year old wouldn't pursue that ass if he thought he had a chance.
Nor do I believe for a moment that most gay men can't find women attractive. I do not believe in gay men any more than I believe in lesbians. Not real. You can't overcome aeons of evolution programming you to want to reproduce. You might enjoy intercourse with other men more, but to compare a gay teen having sex with a woman to a straight teen having sex with a man is silly.
It's just too convenient and mercenary.

Re: Teach Women Not to Rape
I more or less agree, StA. She is guilty of a crime, and I think what she did is messed up on several levels given how he referred to her as his other "mommy" . She should have acted more adult about this early on. If her relationship with the family is good, she could have reached out to them first (yeah, awkard, but not compared to what she did). Then again, I've fortunately never been in that particular social situation, so there could be a thousand things that might make it alot more socially or psychologically difficult to solve.I do not like this chick, and if California says banging a 17 year old is a crime then it is a crime, but it seems like he kept sending her nudes and coming on to her until she relented.

Guys, we got it all wrong. Asia Argento is the victim here
Asia Argento now claiming the minor boy Raped Her and Anthony Bourdain paid protection money to keep the minor boy from doing it again
Asia Argento now claiming the minor boy Raped Her and Anthony Bourdain paid protection money to keep the minor boy from doing it again
Asia Argento now claims that Jimmy Bennett, then 17, was the one who raped her and not, as he claims, the other way around in 2013.
Bennett last month charged that Argento sexually assaulted him when she was 37 and he was 17. Days after the allegations emerged, TMZ obtained text messages allegedly sent by Argento to a friend that said she had sex with Bennett at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Marina del Rey, California.
But her attorney, Mark Jay Heller, now says that Bennett’s allegations are not true, and it was Bennett who was the aggressor. He claims Argento’s boyfriend, the late Anthony Bourdain, agreed to pay Bennett $380,000 simply to protect her.

I was fairly neutral on her until now and basically agreed with StA about this, but after this it's pretty evident she's an evil manipulative cunt.

Re: Teach Women Not to Rape
Interesting shit going down.
We are seeing metoo people saying fuck this movement in the wake of her accusing this kid of raping her. What she did is exactly why men don't report being raped or sexually assaulted by women. It's all too easy for a woman to just counter-accuse the male victim and the cops are going to arrest and charge the man.
Even even if he manages to mount a successful defense in court, the cops will not then prosecute the woman after that.
But we are seeing women realize how fucked up this situation is for men, regardless of the merits of either side of this particular case.
