That's admirable, for real. I do make some fresh cornbread for some meals, but haven't attempted biscuits ever.

For some reason, I thought it was a lot more involved.

Those are plain scones. First thing I learned to bake when I was about 7.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:09 pmDamn... I will have to try that soon.Okeefenokee wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:07 pmIt's very easy.

Recipe just needs cheese and mustard...

Fresh scones in the morning. mmmmm. That's how I hooked my wife. Fresh scones and listening to her talk for as long as she wanted.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 2:03 amThose are plain scones. Re: Preparing for Uncertainty and Self Reliance
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SconeRound British scones can resemble North American biscuits in appearance, but scones traditionally rely on cold butter, while biscuits are more often made with other kinds of animal fat or vegetable shortening.[16] Also, while scones are frequently (but not always) sweet, and served with coffee and tea, biscuits are served more like a bread roll, often with breakfast in the American South.
I have always wondered what a biscuit is in America.
Total misnomer really as bis cuit means twice cooked and generally refers to what you call cookies.
I had been visualising something like Navy hard tack to dip in your gravy.
