Look at the liar make shit up to defend his beloved fake news.

Such a pathetic faggot coward that can't even admit what he is.
Another insightful retort. We are certainly blessed by your intellect here.
These lies aren't even good anymore. You getting enough sleep or have the kids gone full poltergeist?

The logic is sound enough: If no one holds local government accountable on a steady basis, if no one fact checks them on their statements, then government can do whatever they want.

How many working citizens have time to sift government legalese, decipher it, and find out they're really getting a hidden tax hike instead of a promised tax break, for example. It's one one thing to say you don't like biased reporting. That’s a complaint against bad journalism. But to want journalism gone, period, is to invite a bigger and bigger State to rape your ass like a bitch and you getting Stockholm syndromed into thinking your rape is "neccesary". If something doesn't work, fix it, instead of just flailing and crying that it can't ever be done.

The same is true about the lack of coverage everywhere. We have no EU coverage to speak of. The result - out of control spending.

Excatly, that story about the reality of the US media bubble that I've posted sometimes, applies to the EU, too. Here's a story - a little dated, but still relevant - by an Australian trying to cover the EU:

https://voxeurop.eu/en/content/article/ ... els-bubble

With EU, the sheer size and byzantine complexity of its bureacracy, and the speed with which the Commission keeps increasing its authority over national governments, also works in the favor of the lack of coverage. For many citizens, trying to understand the EU is like trying to learn an advanced mathematical equation... in an ancient, dead language.

But like the Americans, alot of Europeans are gradually leaning away from democracy, anyway, so I guess by the time we're either dead, or old enough to be chugged into an incinerator as cranky, old supporters of the ancién regime, it won't matter. Your great-grandkids will bow down before Le Empereur Macron 4nde, and think WW2 was just one of "European civil wars", and my army of grand and great grand kids will do the same. And they'll all speak "Frankseizish", the new French-German combi-language, heralded as the proper "European" language.

And it will be funded by the American right, because EU'll get their new best buddies, Russia, to set up a propaganda service convincing them all Europe's 100% white, anti-Communist, and Christian.

Look at the way AP fawns over Kofi Annan's corpse like North Korean professional mourners at Dear Leader's funeral:
GENEVA (AP) — Kofi Annan, one of the world’s most celebrated diplomats and a charismatic symbol of the United Nations who rose through its ranks to become the first black African secretary-general, has died. He was 80.

His foundation announced his death in Switzerland’s capital, Bern, on Saturday in a tweet , saying he died after a short unspecified illness. It did not give details and remembered the Nobel Peace Prize winner as “radiating genuine kindness, warmth and brilliance in all he did.”
https://apnews.com/b36471b5018640379c5d ... -at-age-80

Nothing in there about scandals and failures. Annan basically prefigured the failure and corruption of Obama in American politics.

Are these people for real? They have to be trolling us with this shit.

I really cannot believe what I am reading.

This guy was possibly the worst and most corrupt secretary general in the history of the United Nations, which is really quite an achievement considering his competition.

He did more to destroy any perceived legitimacy of that shit show than anybody else.

They are talking about this guy like he is saint.

No mention of the oil-for-food corruption, the mass sex abuse scandals, leaving people to be genocided around the world..

What dumbassery is this? We see how much is coming out of our paychecks we know all about local taxes coming out. Keep the parks clean, plow the streets, maintain the streets, keep the water flowing, fire and police, we cool. Who wants journalism gone? Websites exist, camera phones exist, you want to know shit about your local government, you can find it easily. We dont need a dead industry full of liberals to do it anymore. As if state budgets didn't balloon with them around. Hint, they did. If something doesn't work here, we throw more and more money at it and the media were the rainmakers. Want to increase your budget, deliberately fuck up or come up with some sob story. "Your kids are the stupid, pay the teacher unions more or else." Journalism as a profession is a racket, corporate journalism moreso. They hate on my freedom of speech but they think the 1st amendment leaves them immune from any criticism. Fuck them and their biased bitch asses.

 We cant have fucking drinking straws but the future of democracy hangs on a dead industry of dead trees and toxic ink that no one reads anymore.

Also way to stay on topic, it's bad that the beat reporter for the town council that meets every other month doesn't have the job anymore, it's just like the EU? What? Have you read a town charter or bylaws? I have, almost religiously, very little legalese and certainly not byzantine.

As for your dystopian future predictions why would the American right give you up to the Russians when we so clearly would run you directly?

Yep, making their own history. They've been doing it for a long time too. We just now are able to look at figures like FDR and Woodrow Wilson and start to discuss their flaws.
