FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors charged a white man with manslaughter Monday in the death of an unarmed black man whose videotaped shooting in a store parking lot has revived debate over Florida's "stand your ground" law.

Michael Drejka, 47, has been charged with the July 19 death of Markeis McGlockton outside a Clearwater convenience store, Pinellas County State Attorney Bernie McCabe said. Drejka was being held at the county jail on $100,000 bail. It is unknown if he has an attorney.

Turns out that is not strictly true. White dude was going aggro on black dude's wife when black dude pushed him away from her. Regardless of how it turns out, it is not that simple and deserves a trial.

Also white dude has a history of accosting people who park in handicap spots.

If he was just going about his business and that happened, then sure. This situation is sloppy as fuck and should be unwound in a trial, not off the cuff by some sheriff.

I would also add that, even if he is acquitted, the message gets out to people that, if they are armed, they really should not start shit with people. Why even thwart with having to shoot somebody?

There is nothing illegal about telling someone they are illegally parked.

Unless he was beating on her through the window, which you know he wasn't, then he wasn't going aggro on her.

I did not say there is something illegal.

I said he was harassing the woman (allegedly), he has a history of this behavior (based on numerous people coming forward to say this guy is unhinged), and it is not obvious he was in the right here.

It should go to trial. If he is innocent, then great.

For somebody to flat out shoot dead another person and not even see a trial should require a lot more evidence they played no part in initiating the confrontation. That does not mean anybody who played a role in the confrontation who then killed the other party is necessarily guilty. Just that it deserves a trial.

If G Money was walking to the store and some dude walks up and physically attacks him out of the blue, then I can see a better case to not even prosecute.
