Half the pilgrims died in the first 9 months form starvation, it was going the way of Jamestown. The charter was for Communal Farms. It was a Commie Operation. Then Bradford divided plots of land to individual families and surprise, surprise, everyone worked harder and they had an abundance of food.

Native Americans helped to show them how to grow food in the area, and brought deer to the Thanksgiving Feast which last 3 days. So they went from starving, to being able to have enough food for a 3 day Feast once they kicked Commie ideology to the curb.
