It's not how multiculturalism works. Once you get a sectarian state, all politics reduce to sectarian interests. There no longer exists such a thing as "American interests". There are white interests, black interests, Hispanic interests, etc. These interests often conflict with one another.

This cogntitive dissonance you share in is why you will hear two different politicians claiming the other politician is at odds with the "American people". They argue as if only one can be correct and the other is wrong. The only time that makes sense these days is if by "American people" you mean the white Americans who actually built this nation. It's in the interests of Hispanics to allow their families in Mexico to flood our nation and colonize it, but certainly not in white Americans interest to allow even one more immigrant. It's not in black interests to allow Hispanics to colonize America either.

The only thing this civic nationalism hoo hoo serves is the interests of globalists and neo-Marxists.
