Probably for multiple reasons and targeting multiple groups.

It keeps a core group of Trump supporters engaged in the conspiracy theory and going along with some secret plan that to finally bring the Clintons to justice.

It spreads conspiracy theories about democrats and demoralizes democrat voters.

On the other hand, it really could be 4D chess in that democrat-affiliated groups are running it so that it blows up and makes Trump and his supporters look like assholes.

Democrats have a history of doing this, even when (in my opinion) there could very well have been merit to the conspiracy theory. Obama's birth certificate is one example. We never actually got a legit birth certificate from that guy and there exists what appears to be a legitimate birth certificate from Kenya. He has at least two social security numbers and multiple aliases he used throughout his life. He passed himself off as a Kenyan exchange student in college. So there was at least merit to the question of his eligibility for office. But he constantly dangled that shit out there to create controversy so that the MSM (who essentially worked for him at that point) would then run hit pieces on everybody.

This could be no different. I think they did something similar around PizzaGate as well.

The fact is, you can't 100% believe anything anymore. Our media and the entire internet is so packed full of deliberate lies and manipulation at this point, you might as well just be like me and support fucking burning down all central governments and power concentrations in favor of local government and subsidiarity.

Clearly some Fuckery went on with the Obama Birth Certificate. I had a unique take on it. Obama was born in Hawaii, but under religion it stated Muslim. Did you see BHO was in Kenya taking a victory lap and stating planely he was the first Kenyan POTUS ?

It very much could be a pysop, but those often have unintended consequences. There is an entire movement that has grown up out of this it's like Where One Goes, We All Go or something.

As far as Obama.. I think there is a good chance he was actually born abroad.

In any case, in the context of the legal principles in which the Constitution was framed (coverture), no fucking way Obama was eligible for office. His father was a foreigner. He wouldn't even be considered an American citizen by our founders. You cannot change that by changing some fucking statute. That was the clear intent of the framers. Somebody like Obama was not to be eligible for the presidency. The child of a foreign ambassador to an American woman could be born in Virginia but the citizenship of that child was NOT recognized as American, but that of his father.

IMO, the impact of the Q movement is what matters. I haven't seen a long list of Q predicitions that have come true, in fact I'ver really seen nothing to make me think it is as promoted. However it is clear it is gaining popularity and if enough people believe something is true, they can make it true.

I witnessed the qanon shit blow up in real time on 4chan before they finally shut down the threads for who knows what reason. It came out of nowhere and dominated the front page for at least two weeks. It was "promoted" dude.

By the time the rolling generals were shut down 8ch.net /pol/ apparently banned that shit too because qanon started telling people to come to his own containment board on 8ch.net

"Anon" is what everyone is on the chans btw. This all started there. It didnt end on the chans tho. It was a full spectrum push on all social media. I met irl an old cat lady that wanted to talk about qanon and when I told her to quit shitting up my board with boomer nonsense she just clammed up. Didnt want to answer any questions I had about what her thoughts were concerning White displacement in Eueope or America. Didn't know shit about the immigration of act of 1965. Didn't have anything to say about America becoming Brazil. She never browsed /pol/ in her life but she wanted to talk about "q anon."
