I've been told to use the word yacht in English. In Swedish we use båt which is the same word as boat. A magazine like Yachting World is Boat Owners World in Swedish.
Someone told me that in English a boat is something you can practically put on a ship. Doesn't make any sense with fishing boats though.

I do some fishing. This year the heat make it slow going. We get pike, perch and zander out here.
A dragon ship would be great but I would miss the cabin. This year it wouldn't have been a problem though. I could sleep under an open sky all summer when it is like this.

Maxi 999 is a yacht. A yacht is just a luxury boat. Has little to do with size.

Pro tip: when hanging out with squids, be sure to mix up boat and ship all the time.

The best rule I've heard is that a boat leans inwards when it turns but a ship leans outwards.
