Could Trump just remove him?

The problem is congress can’t do it, even if they want to “empeach” him, wouldn’t they need a majority like 75%?

I doubt the Republicans will get enough Democrats on board to do so.

Trump can fire anyone he wants.
But politically, it's not wise without justification. The Corporate Press has been geared up for months to scream Saturday Night Massacre. Hell, Rosenstein is probably daring Trump to fire him so Mueller can indict Trump for Obstruction of Justice.

I don't know what the rules of Congress are for Impeachment. But that would be a good starter reason to fire Rosenstein. If they include the fact that Rosenstein lied to Congress about notifying Page and others about appearing before Congress and other issues. Then it could go down like the Comey Firing which was prompted by Rosenstein recommending dismissal. So in this case, I think Sessions would have to recommend dismissal.

Here it is, just like a Presidential Impeachment

I think the House has some strong evidence. The DOJ has obstructed the House investigation, but the Dems and Rosenstein will cite National Security concerns and ability to get through all the data in a timely matter.

They may have him dead to rights on lying to Congress. They might also bring in witnesses who will say Rosenstein threatened them. And in fact if they can get that last FISA Warrant Rosenstein signed and its improper or different from the ones they have on file it would be a done deal.
