Pretty sure they think their voter base is "locked in" and will always vote Dem. Last I knew independents have grown considerably and aren't necessarily locked into one party in particular. It will be interesting to see whether this alienates a lot of people or not.

There's an opportunity here to gut the DNC pretty good - It shouldn't be wasted...I'd rather have the defector "soyboys" join the independents...
