Three good things:

1. I was allowed to go to the library for part of the day to actually learn something by reading non-government books.
2. The music teachers just sent me to a recital hall where I could play Chopin instead of fuck around with the remedial shit. (I probably should have gone into music since I just played it without having to learn it, really, but now I have not played in years, so that's a tragedy).
3. AP classes were better in that the kids there were mostly motivated and not a hindrance to the rest of the students.

Three bad things:

1. School days are designed around factory work. They are too long. They are filled with useless classes. Kids should focus on learning only a few subjects each day instead of breaking it up into seven 45 minute blocks (which is fucking retarded when you consider it).
2. There was not enough physical activity for high school. I really needed somebody to teach me to lift weights, do calisthenics, run faster and farther, etc., even though I didn't think those things were my cup of tea (they apparently are and I only found out now).
3. Most of the student body were assholes that dragged everybody else down. It would be better to separate them according to temperament, intelligence/aptitude, and personal problems. I probably needed a combination of strict discipline and the freedom to explore topics on my own (like play Chopin in a recital room where nobody can bother me) or study topics that interest me in the library.

Thanks for an actual real reply. I believe the school day is too long. Clocking in at close to 8 hours where I'm at. I think the way a military academy does it by me is one example of a better "system" in some ways. Like for example the students only take one subject at a time and take finals after roughy 7 weeks. It's all year round with obvious breaks.

Good things.
None.

Bad things.
Special education when I went didn’t allow you to go to college, etc. they expected you to be on SSI for the rest of your life.

It was called the retard room because back then it’s where all the mentally retarded children and those with slight disabilities were taught.

School was too long, as stated before.

We were taught with books old enough to be used by my parents.

Most of my education, I wasn’t taught. I learned through experience.

Bad Things

- Other students were basically Lord of the Flies. Every conceivable distraction from actual education.
- Mechanical, useless instruction. Rote memorization over actual learning.
- Began MUCH too early in the day, at 7:20am. Nobody, and I mean nobody is ready to take in information at that hour.

Good Things

- Prepared me for dealing with idiots in the real world
- Forced/taught me to stand up for myself
- Inspired a deep distrust of authority, which has actually served me pretty well.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.
