And you didn't in this thread. It's Seattle, it is a one party state. It was dems taxing dems. Some dems wanted to tax other dems. Other dems wanted not to tax other dems. Congrats you took the side of the dems with remnant math skills. You want a cookie?
 I support fiscal responsibility. Neither party cares about that.

They didn’t want to pay the tax and they didn’t have the balls to move somewhere else like they bluffed, so they flooded money into the political system to get their way.
From the article:
The effort quickly raised $300,000, including contributions of $25,000 each from Amazon and coffee retailer Starbucks (SBUX.O), another major Seattle stalwart, and $30,000 from a grocers trade group, said Jon Scholes, president of the Seattle Association.
25K is not "flooding money into the political system".

Most of us here are not on one extreme (Let business do whatever the F they want) or the other (F the rich, let government take whatever they want). In this particular case, many of us feel the government is in the wrong here, asking for another tax for inefficient spending. The politicians also reasoned this was just because these companies, bringing in thousands of jobs and millions of dollars into the local economy, need to atone for the increase in housing costs.

No, and they never pretend to. Upholding a value to bash one party but never the other because they conveintly never cared about it, is A1 top level undercover hack bitch behavior.

This wasnt about economics per Dr, it wasn't about Amazon or the plight of the homeless, it wasn't about fiscal responsibility. It was about the metaphysical absolute that whatever you tax you get less of, and whatever you subsidize you get more of. Who the fuck, outside of a leftist wanting to consolidate power, would want less employment for more homelessness?

Meh - it's very similar.

Pretending to care but not doing it versus not pretending to care. Same/same. By your logic, all one kid has to do is say he'll clean his room (and not clean it,) and he's better than the kid who doesn't pretend he'll clean his room. They both didn't clean their room, so why is one better than the other?

Not about the kids it's about the parents. Can't be disappointed if you don't have expectations.

Decent analogy here, at least you can talk like a conservative once in a while. I absolutely hate it when liberals make government and politicians the parents and citizens the kids. Fuck that noise with a jagged broken glass dildo.

I'm sure Seattle is trying to "help" just like SanFran is.

"Terrified" San Francisco Tourists Shocked By Aggressive Vagrants, Discarded Needles, Dead Bodies

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06- ... edles-dead
"The streets are filthy. There's trash everywhere. It's disgusting," Joe D'Alessandro, president of S.F. Travel told the Chronicle's Heather Knight in April. "I've never seen any other city like this — the homelessness, dirty streets, drug use on the streets, smash-and-grabs."

The city, which hands out up to 4.8 million syringes each year, has struggled to figure out how to keep streets clean and safe for residents, while accommodating a growing homeless population and longstanding HIV and Hepatitis C epidemics. There are roughly 16,000 residents in San Francisco with HIV, and 13,000 with Hep C.

City Health Director Barbara Garcia estimated in 2016 that there were 22,000 intravenous drug users in San Francisco - around one for every 38.9 residents, while the city hands out roughly 400,000 needles per month.

Of the 400,000 needles distributed monthly, San Francisco receives around 246,000 back - meaning that there are roughly 150,000 discarded needles floating around each month - or nearly 2 million per year, according to Curbed.

Mayor Mark Farrell has said, repeatedly, in recent weeks that the problem of discarded syringes on city streets has become a sticking point for him, and the city promised millions of dollars to curb the problem of hazardous waste on sidewalks and streets.

Meanwhile, San Francisco Chronicle’s Matier and Ross chimed in Wednesday with an uncomfortable observation: Most of the needles littering streets in downtown neighborhoods came by way of the city itself, as part of the Department of Public Health’s 25-year-old needle exchange program. -Curbed
"Millions of dollars" promised to help "curb the problem of hazardous waste" - created by handing out free needles, 2 million a year of which end up on the streets... Hmm. Who pays for those needles? Who pays to clean them up? Why are they paying to both create a hazard and then clean it up??

If only he got stuck by one or two of them.
