They didn’t want to pay the tax and they didn’t have the balls to move somewhere else like they bluffed, so they flooded money into the political system to get their way.

Most of us here are not on one extreme (Let business do whatever the F they want) or the other (F the rich, let government take whatever they want). In this particular case, many of us feel the government is in the wrong here, asking for another tax for inefficient spending. The politicians also reasoned this was just because these companies, bringing in thousands of jobs and millions of dollars into the local economy, need to atone for the increase in housing costs.

This wasnt about economics per Dr, it wasn't about Amazon or the plight of the homeless, it wasn't about fiscal responsibility. It was about the metaphysical absolute that whatever you tax you get less of, and whatever you subsidize you get more of.
