PUTLER DID NOTHING WRONG
Putin showed restraint in Ukraine and Georgia. Either he's shrewd and just nibbling, scared of provoking international scorn or just beating the dogs back from his den.Smitty-48 wrote:Sure he did, he started a war in Ukraine, but then stopped short of driving all the way to the Dnieper when the way was wide open, what good is Crimea, if you don't have the warm water shipyards at Mykolaiv?
If he was really Putler, he would have gone all the way, no half measures for Mr. Wolf, conflating Putin with Hitler, is an insult to Hitler.
If you're going to take back the Rhineland, just fuckin' take it, all or nothing, go big or go home.
It wasn't restraint, he's too timid, he nibbles around the margins, that's the worst of both worlds, Hitler knew the score, if you're going to go, go all the way, before the enemy has time to react and dig in against you, once you cross the line, you're in the shit then, so make sure you're going for all the marbles, before you make your move.kybkh wrote:Putin showed restraint in Ukraine and Georgia.Smitty-48 wrote:Sure he did, he started a war in Ukraine, but then stopped short of driving all the way to the Dnieper when the way was wide open, what good is Crimea, if you don't have the warm water shipyards at Mykolaiv?

Bet if Putin had to do it over again he'd go past Mariupol. He overestimated BO if anything.
Maybe that was an actual win by the CIA then, provoking the Bear before next gen equipment was deployed, limiting Putin's choices.Smitty-48 wrote:It wasn't restraint, he's too timid, he nibbles around the margins, that's the worst of both worlds, Hitler knew the score, if you're going to go, go all the way, before the enemy has time to react and dig in against you, once you cross the line, you're in the shit then, so make sure you're going for all the marbles, before you make your move.kybkh wrote:Putin showed restraint in Ukraine and Georgia.Smitty-48 wrote:Sure he did, he started a war in Ukraine, but then stopped short of driving all the way to the Dnieper when the way was wide open, what good is Crimea, if you don't have the warm water shipyards at Mykolaiv?

Don't have the stones for it? Well then just stick to your knitting.
That's sort of the trap Putin is caught in now, he's in the tween zone, soaking up punishment for going in there, but can't go big now, without inciting serious sanctions, which would harm the rearmament program, but at the same time, critical assets for the rearmament program, are actually in Ukraine, which he didn't secure when he went in there, because he didn't go big when the window was wide open.kybkh wrote:Maybe that was an actual win by the CIA then, provoking the Bear before next gen equipment was deployed, limiting Putin's choices.
