The point of the skit was that by not standing up to the bully, he allowed himself to be publicly humiliated.

Anyone with a spine could have backed that kid off around 1:30, but he didn’t. He waffled, and showed extreme weakness.

IF the encounter is allowed to go on to 2:00, he should have stood up and told the kid to take his best shot.

Since he didn’t, the abuse goes on. He’s shown to be weak and ineffective as a protector, and the woman loses all respect for him.

The proper response is to de-escalate from strength, not cowering. The fist fight isn’t going to happen, no matter what he does, unless he wants it to. A man should be able to control that engagement.
Don't stand there and ask him to take the first shot. Stand up like you are trying to de-escalate with your hands out (so they are already up) and then blast him in the throat. Then take the chair and smash it into his face.

Both sexes run on an evolutionary program. You can circumvent that due to your intellect, but it takes awareness of the program in some cases to even recognize it.

Maybe we shouldn't circumvent it either. I don't really know. But if women are not going to transend this, then we need to go back to the traditional social order.

The point of that skit was that he circumvented it, but she did not, and she despised him for it.
You’re right about the point of the clip, that’s what makes it so great.

I wouldn’t want to date a woman that doesn’t circumvent those things like the woman in the show. I would understand why she didn’t want to date again, because it’s legitimate for her to go with what evolution tells her is attractive, but I’d figure she wasn’t right for me.

All kinds of women out there that are attracted to all kinds of men.

Yeah. My roommate brought home some greasy long haired hippy last night. I'm not really that big but I felt like I could snap him in half. I was just coming out of the shower wearing a towel when they came back. This bitch started yammering about taking in the trash can and I laughed while he avoided my eyes and looked down at the ground. I should have raped her on the spot to assert my dominance.

Anyone with minimal training in hapkido or aikido coulda dropped him at the handshake without breaking a sweat.
;)

Wrist/elbow lock, y’all.
No reason to go all King Kong with chairs and throat punches. Conserve that energy, you may have a lot of work ahead depending on how much his “friends” like him.

Not quite. When he shoves his hand in Louie’s face, he’s testing for weakness. Grab his hand, look him in the eyes, and say your name. Try to play it off as friendly, while showing no fear. He will back down.

If he gets to the point of asking whether I want my ass kicked - proposing a physical fight, I stand up and tell him ‘take your best shot then, buttercup’.

The situation could have been defused with body language, though. Louie made himself a docile victim, and was treated like one.

I can show you how to do a wrist/elbow lock right now, fool. You think it takes years of training in some forgotten Buddhist monastery to figure out which way human body parts move and which way they don’t?

It’s a 5 minute training on technique, not a lifestyle.

Okay, cool, show me.

Recently took up boxing, myself. The conditioning is great, and the fighting stuff makes me feel more confident and aggressive when out in the world. It’s not like anyone would screw with me face to face in the first place, tho.
