Sorry, Flounder.

The set of Puritanism contains the entire set of Progressivism.

Woody just pisses me off. Thanks for inciting my Monday morning anger. :P

I learned something here. I really don't know more than junior high social studies views of the Puritans, might have to get reading.

Read Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick. It not only lays out their beliefs, but how their beliefs evolved over time here. It’s a great read, too.

Progressivism is just the current form of Puritanism. They are historically, evolutionarily, and structurally the same line of religious and political thought.

Instead of hunting witches they hunt men accused of abusing their male privelege, or racists, fascists, etc. It is the same thing, though, and you can hardly miss the similarities of hysterical women accusing a ton of people and the Puritan authorities acting shocked that you choose not to "believe her".

They seek to control sex and all sorts of behaviors they see as a violation against the covenant. only now the covenant is a kind of Marxist dialectic. They still seek to create a kind of heaven on Earth by forcing everybody to convert and follow the plan.

Progressivism literally sprung out of Puritanism in the 19th century. The transition away from Christianity towards Marxism took a very long time, however, but by 2008 it was a done deal when they rejected God three times at their convention.

What's more embarrassing is my wife has Mayflower Puritans on both sides of her family tree.

What's funny with my wifes family having Puritan origins is her mom is definitely a Progressive. Hell, she even made an off hand comment about some local mother that wasn't doing well raising kids that the mother should be sterilized.

Her dads side is cool though, they bolted from Puritanism quick, opened the very first Tavern in Vermont back when the Green Mountains were the Frontier.

Everyone is alike, when abstraction is the name of the game.

“Elephants and mushrooms are basically the same, they’re both organic, both require oxygen, they inhabit the same ecosystem, etc, etc”
"Hey varmints, don't mess with a guy that's riding a buffalo"

Amazing! The set of living creatures includes the set of elephants AND the set of mushrooms. Nobody ever thought of it that way.

Genius, Gump.

Let's try it again, class. The set of Puritanism (not "Puritans" or "Quakers" or "elephants") contains the set of Progressivism.

If any of you want to make a counter-argument, go watch one of STA's youtubes on modal logic first, or something.

That book may give her some information that she didn’t already have about her ancestors. It’s loaded with detail.
