Fired?
I read she requested a move to another ESPN position and it was granted. She’ll still be collecting an ESPN paycheck.

ESPN SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill is leaving the 6:00 p.m. SC6 edition of SportsCenter to join the staff of The Undefeated, the ESPN microsite that fuses sports, race and culture, as well as other additional assignments. Multiple sources confirmed that Hill asked management for the switch. She is expected to depart SC6 the first week of February. Hill has three years remaining on her ESPN deal.

She’s going to their SJW race/culture division, Which of course they don’t actually have, as they’ve assured us that they are not political in the least.

She should be very successful in the SJW Roll.

Sounds like ESPN is trying to set up separate shows, one will be a social free fire zone and try to keep SC about sports news.

What am I missing on Bourdain ? I'm seeing tons of articles canonizing this guy.

He was a good communicator, pretty standard human interest show centered around food. Very much the model of the human interest pieces we used to see when the big 3 ran the news business. But what was great about him ?

People are always greater when they're dead. No one (or almost no one) don't really want to be the guy who contradicts the exaggerated tales of the virtues of the deceased. At least not during the first week or so after a death. That seems to usually be when the: "...yeah, but he could be a bit of an asshole" sort of conversations, start to become acceptable.

And, of course, someone's always "great" if they were on your "team" (wether they were or you just imagine so). Then they're positively godlike at death, because any negative talk about the "great" dead guy means a "win" for the other team.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

What I'm hearing is they are canonizing Bourdain because he said he would Poison Trump if given the chance.

I already gave my opinion in the RIP thread. He’s an American hero,
IMO.
