Valve Gets Out of the Wrong-think Game

Post by DBTrek » Thu Jun 07, 2018 8:03 am

Valve Says Game Devs Can Now Put Anything on Steam Unless It's Illegal or 'Trolling'
...According to Valve’s Erik Johnson, from now on the company will allow basically anything to be sold on its platform—except if it is illegal or “straight up trolling.”

“Valve shouldn’t be the ones deciding this,” Johnson wrote in a blog post. “If you’re a player, we shouldn’t be choosing for you what content you can or can’t buy. If you’re a developer, we shouldn’t be choosing what content you’re allowed to create. Those choices should be yours to make.”....

Valve gets out of the wrong-think game.
And the SJWs are beside themselves with grief.
valve's value set--which will be expressed every time a school shooter game comes out or a blatantly racist game goes unopposed bc the mindset is basically normalized--is that some vague intention of openness matters more than the outcomes of that intention

and it's not like these categories valve explicitly listed don't impact each other! if racists get to run free on steam, I imagine people will make even fewer games about identity than they already do. the space becomes too threatening for that kind of expression

Always surprises me how much the millennials hate and fear the concept of freedom. They really have a dislike for any system that can lead to ideas outside of their lockstep ideology being expressed.

Long may they reign in glory.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Really just sit back and unpack that Kotaku tweet. "Our ideas are so worthless that the only way we can market them is to rig the marketplace of ideas in their favor."

I think there’s a moment of unintended honesty when Kotaku SJW complains about Valve believes “some vague intention of openness matters more than the outcomes of that intention”.

There it is, right? Freedom and openness must be curtailed because they’ll lead to some sub-optimal outcomes for some people or groups of people, sometimes.

Only the enlightened leftists can guide us all to the correct outcomes, and that means freedom and openness have to GTFO so that utopia can arrive unhindered.
