4 years. Work in the hospital if you want. That simple threshold would weed out about 90% of the democratic party electorate.

That is the big problem we face.

Not all folks qualify for military service. Disenfranchising everyone who can’t pass the physical or is too old to enlist seems like a pretty bad idea.
It's okay to be POTUS after draft dodging yourself out of service, but voting for president? Hell naw, that's entirely different.

Define draft dodging.

No, Kathy Newman. I am saying that we should limit enfranchisement at the federal level to veterans. So if somebody dodged the draft, then they cannot serve in an elected federal office, since they are by definition not veterans and therefore not enfranchised.

Obviously, anybody getting a mental disability shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Nobody stupid. Nobody who owes money. Nobody married more than twice. Nobody not married at 40. Nobody who can’t play chess. This disenfranchisement thing is pretty easy!

Actually, it is pretty easy when you realize that it comes down to voting for what you actually pay for. If you don't pay the primary cost of government at some level, then you have no business voting.

Disgruntled grocers who rent share don't have any business voting in Seattle politics, since they don't actually pay for any of the shit they happily vote for.

Non-property owners have no business voting in county elections since they don't actually pay for any of the shit that is done at the county level.

People who don't pay state income tax don't really have any business voting at the state level.

Think about how easy it is to vote for more shit for yourself when you don't pay for it.

Think about how easy it is to not even give a shit about the fact that a politician like Hillary Clinton destabilizes the entire planet in low-intensity war for DECADES when you don't have to be the one fighting the wars. It literally did not factor into any of their votes.

And yet.. if everybody who voted for Hillary Clinton would have to go fight Hillary Clinton's wars, that bitch would have precious few votes. Hmm..

Yes. It would be so amazing to live in a country where I pay a share of my income that buys me a government that does not have to listen to me. That sounds absolutely.... /nm

If you pay taxes, then you'd vote at the state level. There shouldn't be anything at the federal level that doesn't deal with foreign policy and war anyway. Technically, the federal level really should only be governed by veterans. It can pay for itself through tariffs.

At the state level is where all these social programs and discretionary spending should happen. Then the only people who should be voting are the one's actually paying for this shit.

Only a small percentage of this country actually serves. Almost nobody who votes actually gives a shit about the fact that we have been at war for almost twenty years now. They literally don't care. The armed forces are being run into the ground. They don't give a shit.

Their reasons for voting had nothing to do with the military or the people who actually have to pay the costs.

It's not tenable. The military is eventually just going to take this toy away from you. You realize that, right?

Required military service to vote is a silly idea that quickly disintegrates upon any closer inspection.

Requires registration for a draft is as far down that road as you can go before it falls apart.
