I don't think that works as a qualification. You don't have to be in shape to play baseball or basketball or any other "sport".
Yeah; I conceded that point already. How about physical exertion being a requirement?

If any of you have raced go karts you will know how exhausting motor sports are.
A day with toddlers is exhausting. That doesn't make it a sport.

Walking up stairs is physical exertion for some.

Formula one drivers are extremely fit.

Sure, but there's no competitive element.

Nice straw man.

Formula one is far more grueling than karting so if you have karted you will have some understanding of how fit you need to be to drive flat out for two hours at upto 200 mph in a Formula one car.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

No.
Chess has far more in common with Chutes & Ladders than it does football.

Chutes and Ladders is entirely based on luck.

A sport is essentially some form of competition between individuals or teams in which specified rules exist and there exists some winning condition that is not achieved primarily through luck. It has to be based on skill.

So you consider Mario Kart a sport?
