If you don't have to be in shape to do a particular activity, it's not a sport.

I don't think that works as a qualification. You don't have to be in shape to play baseball or basketball or any other "sport".

They should just call this competition, not sport.

Illinois high schools start esports video gaming teams

DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - More than two dozen Illinois schools have started esports teams as the Illinois High School Association has recognized video gaming as an emerging high school sport.

Playing World of Warcraft is now considered an athletic activity. "Of course I workout! I sit on my ass playing games on Playstation for several hours a day!"

I'm not sure Motor Sports are sports. When I think of Sports I definitely box them into vigorous Athletic Competition. Which would rule out Horseshoes, Darts, Bowling, and Curling.

Formula one drivers are extremely fit.
If any of you have raced go karts you will know how exhausting motor sports are.
