Return of the Dust Bowl

Post by SuburbanFarmer »

Looks like CONUS may have broken the all-time record for hottest May, set in 1934.

The drought in the southwest is being compared to the Dust Bowl as well. Interesting times indeed.

The Southwest is a dust bowl.

But, get your Banjo going and lament about it.

Pretty much, save the diverted water from the Northwest and Colorado. It was always a fake lush growing environment.

Point being that the Mojave may be spreading significantly in the next few years.

Which wouldn’t break my heart, except to think about the damage that will be done trying to irrigate that wasteland in the meantime. The Colorado may well be dry soon.

Our mistake is trying to put millions upon millions of people in the Southwest. An area that cannot sustain that population without massive infrastructure and buying resources from other states. If all the Lefties in the region had any honesty about sustainability and green building they would move the fuck out.

Where's an Environmentalist when you need one ?

You think it’s lefties running almond plantations in the desert?

I never see these 'Environmentalists' lock themselves up in an Almond Tree, or housing project, or bring a lawsuit to stop bringing in greater and greater numbers of people to the area.

You never even hear Environmentalists question the environmental impact of Hollywood, LA, SF, Phoenix or Vegas.

It's fucking huge.

Once the Hoover dam runs out of water and the power shuts down Vegas is dead anyway.
I'd like a chance to play a few hands at Binion's before that happens...
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
