Or in the specific context of a rich white mother calling out another rich white mother with a highest-level position in the administration posting about her beautiful safe baby in her arms *while* that same administration is perpetrating the unspeakably cruel, voluntary policy of forcibly separating infants and children from their asylum seeking parents. As a “disincentive”. And they’ll be put into foster care “or whatever”. And this is coming to the foreground just as we learn they keep losing 20% of the other brown children they are supposedly to be taking care of.

What are you prattling on about? Hypocrisy from Republicans is non existent? Hannity went on for eight years about how Michelle shouldn't wear so many designer clothes and how her and her kids should never be allowed to leave DC for a vacation because it's Hannity paying for it.

Melania, though, cricketts, even though her clothes are likely 10 times the cost of Michelle's, and all those vacations to Mar-a-Lago are just part of the job and taxpayers can suck it up, buttercup.

I never said "Democrats" are the hypocrites, so showing Republicans being hypocrites proves nothing. "The lot of 'em" are all of the holier than thou elite celebrities and media who scream about things like bullying and then proceed to go about bullying others themselves. Their excuse is always some form of "but they deserve it", when it comes to bullying, sexism and general hateful behavior.

In a word, no.

All 7,635 children were resettled by HHS. After 30 days, the department called the parents or guardians to check up on things. But these calls were not required by law, and in 1,475 cases, the parents or guardians did not respond, perhaps because they feared being targeted for deportation, Wagner said.

Wagner testified in April to a Senate subcommittee that, of the 7,635 children, 6,075 remained where they were placed, 52 had moved, 28 had run away and five were deported. That left 1,475 migrant children. Just because their parents or guardians did not return HHS’s phone calls after 30 days does not mean the children are missing, he said.

“We are not in custody of the children at that point,” Wagner said. “If you call a friend and they don’t answer the phone, you don’t assume that they’ve been kidnapped.”

Kaine’s tweet suggests the 1,500 children were separated from their families and then lost. That’s not what happened, since all 7,635 children were unaccompanied minors when they crossed the border and were resettled.
