From what I heard the cancelation of Last Man Standing had to do with the fact that ABC never produced it but FOX. So they had to pay FOX a fee to air that on their station and after like 6 seasons they decided to not invest in newer episodes.

My suspicion as well. I heard the show was at least flirting with normalizing more degeneracy anyway.clubgop wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 1:06 pmYeah to me, it looks like Roseanne didn't want a season 2 for a reboot. She wanted one season to wrap it up they way she wanted to 2 decades ago and thereafter was going to sabotage any possible dragging this out before you drain all the life out of it. Always leaving wanting more. She knew what she was doing.
I was never allowed to watch the original growing up for the same reason.
Dad really liked the values in Home Improvement, though. We watched that.

I was just happy to see Wanda distance herself from the 3rd rail monkey reference. Oh wait...

I'd never heard that before. I know they cited costs. But c'mon, it was their No 2 show, they probably raked in at least 30 Million a year in ad revenue. Roseanne was bringing in 60 Million. ABC is a Disney company along with ESPN and they have clearly shown their political leanings and intolerance for views that different from their Proletkult. They go light on Lefty bombasts, hammer all others.

Penner doesn't understand the biz here. 20th century fox was the distributor of the show so in essence they own it so in syndication and royalties all go to them. The initial contract had ABC paying 1/3 of the production cost, this way the network had a good incentive to keep the show on the air and distributors could make syndication deals with 6 seasons of episodes. The distributor was already making a mint in syndication. After 6 years the distributor would only pay 1/5 the production leaving ABC holding the bag. Not to mention the contracts for the actors was coming up and of course they all wanted more money and ABC would jave been stuck paying for most of it. The ratings just don't justify that anymore. Friends was the last show to get a stupid production budget like that. Every single member of the main cast was getting 1 million per episode.C-Mag wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 10:59 pmI'd never heard that before. I know they cited costs. Waiting for the day when the networks realize that the average SJWs is broke as fuck...
Wondering if the fate of the networks is inescapable now as they've totally alienated white middle class viewers...
Just out of curiosity.....what's ABC's demographics?

I think that will take awhile because retailers will take some time to notice a down tick in sales that is a direct result of TV advertising because they will still be advertising elsewhere and people have their shopping habits which is why you never see a boycott really work.
