Well, you showed me. Good points.
You really are kind of dense sometimes. Here, we have Kim Kardashian, they have the Queen. Not everyone loves Kim, but a whole lot do, not everyone loves the Queen, but a whole lot do.

We have royalty, here; lots of them. We just worship differently. You don't have to be part of it to recognize it's here to stay. People need their royalty; doesn't matter where they are.
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

Hey, I'm not arguing that they shouldn't love their Queen. I completely get that, and it's not what I'm talking about.
I'm just pointing out that the office has no actual power. If that bursts some kind of bubble for them, then sorry.

This seems to happen quite often around here - whether through my own vagueness, or the misunderstanding of my audience - that my argument gets twisted into a completely different issue.

You don't think the ability to disband parliament is a power? Can you do that?

It’s a hypothetical power, but not one that could actually be used. See last page.

It's not hypothetical. It's how their government is set up. She is the sovereign, not the people. It's the equivalent of us calling a Constitutional Convention. Easy? Hell the fuck no it is not, but it remains an enumerated power of the people, just as she retains the power to do the exact same thing.

You seem to be under the mistaken notion that Britain is self-governed, even nominally. It's neither supposed to be self-governed or only a mockery of self-government as our cou try has become. They have a monarch. She is the sovereign. Do try to understand what that means.

A powerless monarch is no better than a feckless Congress. Probably better, actually.

Regardless, despite whatever pomp and circumstance they display, the monarch has effectively abdicated, and Britain is under the domain of Parliament.

She's not powerless. She has a better chance of nuking her cancerous government than we do. Sh is more powerful over her government than the American people are over our own.

I was told that we have absolute power over our government, thanks to millions of small arms.
